I own my 944 S2 for 8 years right know. It has already over 215k km. Bought with 168k km. Of course you have to do the maintenance. But then it runs very well. And it never leave me alone. But it’s not my daily even when it was my only car for most the time.

God, this video makes me so happy to own our first gen pre-facelift renault Megane. It's so French and just like all my old peugeots (205 GT, two 206s), it just keeps on going and going and going regardless of what's broken on it. The entire car can be falling apart but the engine will start every time and never leave me stranded. That's true french engineering. Do I need the heater to work? Do I need my mirrors to stay in position? Do I need my power steering to not leak at full lock? Nope. I need a car that can take a beating over and over and over and keep fucking ticking over! Italian and British cars are the opposite of this.

The year I turned 50, coincided with the same year I was promoted to O-6 (Navy Captain)….I gifted myself a 944s2 Cabriolet, in beautiful Baltic Blue. Now in the last year of my 60s, I still own the car….almost pristine, stored in winter, and it has barely 65k on the clock. I’m fully retired now, from both the Navy, and a career in federal law enforcement. I’m tempted to “let her go” and buy a 911 or a BoxsterS….strange how the 944 cabs and turbos, in good shape, are bringing “silly money” right now. Still….I just don’t know if I can part ways with it….and after watching this video, I have a new appreciation for that engine in particular, and in general, “automobile as art”. Great video!

I need to leave this comment. I´m from Argentina and a month ago i discover your channel. Im totally amazed by everything. Ive recently did a 4500 km here in Argentina with mi very scary low Volvo C30 and it blew my mind. Then i discover your channel and made me reconect with filming, wich i tried it a few years back. Now i think ive already seen like 85% of the whole channel, included the first smartphone ones. This things you make, the films and the cars, the adventures, everything, its REALLY inspiring. The only thing its i find your channel too late. Im really hoping to see new adventures and if you come to Argentina please let us know! 100 times, thank you!

like the video but a couple of things to note, seat eveything down. i saw a few thing you place down then hit or did a firm force to it. second the valve springs you should have covered them in a thick oil and not left them dry like that, and last you had the head off why didnt you just place the timing on the pistons then why time the engine with the old machanic trick through the spark plug area.

Beautiful cars and very capable! You inspired me to kit my XS with some Hella’s and mudflaps. I wonder how did you install the mudflaps? Did you drill? Wondering if there’s anything I should keep in mind in order for the holes not to rust after a while. Thank you! Big fan of the channel since I discovered a few weeks ago.

This video deserves far more eyes laid upon it, this was a creature of care and love and should be see by more. This was truly something beautiful with its cinematography and focus. No words just actions, with intention. This is the stuff that made me want to do something with cars, this is the stuff that truly beats within my heart, as a car guy, photographer, and just a curious man. Thank you for doing something this amazing, bless you.

I rarely comment on videos but I thought i'd comment on this one because of the end. I've watched every one of these 205 videos in about 3 days and they are incredible. You have me ordering a Haynes manual for a 205 that I probably wont own for years to come😆but watching your videos has given me motivation to maybe look for something a little less complete so that it's slightly more obtainable and I can tinker in my garage at my own pace to hopefully have a GTI of my own one day 😉. I see you haven't uploaded for a little bit but hopefully you can find the motivation to stick at it! I'll definitely be checking out the other videos on your other cars 😄

I drove to Nordkapp with a friend in a diesel Polo and we slept in the car. We also built ourselves a camping extension and dear friends, you can do it for much less money. The shit heap of a car cost 1000€ and the camping extension 150€. We drove the 7000 kilometers without any problems. We were ridiculed for the idea, but it turned out to be a wonderful journey of beauty and adventure.
