Such a great adaptation of the video game. I've had the neoprene mat since the first kickstarter but honestly the cardboard board is so nice and sturdy that sometimes I prefer to play on that rather than get the neoprene out.

The new mission book shows the tiles needed for each mission on the bottom near the enemies for the initial setup. That helps a lot because sometimes it's difficult to see what tiles are needed by only looking at the mission setup in the original mission book.

Ole and MOOD did a really good job translating DRG into board game format. I have everything from both campaigns except the Korloc, the mini expansions just got too expensive. That said, painting it all up has been a blast as well and the game just looks amazing on the table. With that hidden cavern tile that was slightly damaged, you can probably take a black marker to those spots and it will be hard to spot from a distance. The little cards that came with the expansions are cards for selecting random missions and creating operations. The light on top tells you the difficulty (green, yellow, red). I'm really glad they added they abyss bar to the space rig expansion too. I created a module and posted it to BGG that did a very similar thing to how they implemented it when I received the first printing.

Sadly the Charger isn't part of the video game. The devs actually talked about this in a live stream. The Charger wouldn't fit in the video game due to the fact that many other bugs in the game already fill the disruption role that the Charger does.

Yep and it has special rules too! Basically any movement on that tile is considered a single tile of movement, as if you were floating on it just like in DRG. So good

These Scenario and Character expansions are essential for RE2:TBG, otherwise there is not enough variety and base game scenarios are too easy. It seems like RE3:TBG and RE:TBG are much more self-sufficient, though only 4 player characters is still not enough. Can't believe they put Lisa instead of Big Snake in the base game.

Just stumbled on the channel - I've been a fan of the Tomb Raider CGG for a long time, so looking forward to checking out your spin on it all. Oh and for what it's worth, I'm pretty sure the green circle tokens are for when a player's raider gets any additional life. I bet you can sleep at night now, knowing that, if not already!

Steamforged Games didn't do a very good job with the sculpts (making them shipping and gaming robust) and the packaging. My first Thunderjaw had a snapped tail in the box as well. Fortunately Amazon replaced it for free and the second one was fine.

Hi! The Team Lard Expansion and the Deluxe Edition are two different things, so they were sold separately on Kickstarter at the time. However, most people bought them together. You won't be able to easily find them for sale as they are out of print, but you might find them on eBay.

Very cool. Idk if I didn't pay attention to it if you said it, but what's the end game here? Do you need to reach a relic first in order to win? How do you spawn that relic on the board?

The end game depends on what you decide it to be, but in most cases it is finding the treasure at the end of the map! There is a Treasure Room location card in each level deck, and the aim is to reach that location and complete a Search to find the treasure. The first Raider to find it wins! I also play a variant where you have to return the treasure to an entrance, which makes it even more competitive.

Basically the person that finds the treasure adds it to their unsaved item discoveries, so if they die they drop it at the location that they died. Another player can then go to that location and pick it up. In a recent game we had a situation where we both made it to the treasure room at the same time, so we battled it out. I lost the duel and so my opponent searched and found the treasure, whilst I respawned further back at a save point. My opponent then had to make it back from the treasure room (depth 6) all the way to an entrance (depth 1) whilst avoiding traps and me. I caught up with him and tried to take him out but lost again anyway 🤣 so he got to the entrance and won. The shotgun is overrated 😉

I'd love to do one on Big Guns, but I'm not sure if there were any additions to the rules in that expansion as they didn't release Quest Decks for it! I will do some research :)

I know, that big guns added some new guns (what a surprise), but I don't know, if it's some huge changes to the gameplay. But the prices are very high, I saw on eBay 50 common cards for 75$ and 50 cards for 130$. Even booster pack costs 10$ sadly😢. I wish they will print this game again with translation to other languages.

I really like the board game. I never played the PS1 original, so nostalgia wasn't a factor for me, but I've always wanted a world War I themed war game that handled infantry, vehicles, and aerial units in a single game effectively. The fact that it has kind of a goofy, light theme is an added bonus. I can see how it seems a bit complicated, but I think more than anything it's just a poor rule book. The actual game is a lot of fun, if a touch long sometimes.

Glad that you enjoy it! I agree that the rule book is very poor. They did also issue about 5 pages of additional FAQs due to how many holes there were in the rules. But once you've figured it all out, it's a lot of fun :)

@@DanLooksAtStuff haha, yeah, I'm actually the reason that FAQ got released. I wrote down a whole bunch of questions and then went through the BGG forums and gathered up all the other questions and shot them off as an email to the designer, James. It took him several months to put it together, but he did eventually publish that, and it's really useful. I still occasionally run across a small thing I don't have a clear answer for, but at this point it's easy enough to figure the answers out for myself.

I think they over-complicated the miniatures game and didn't quite capture the nostalgia factor. But it is still a fun collectible :)
