just wanted to do a quick update here about my experience with the phone. in my video i mentioned that having high frequency PWM dimming is nice. it was totally fine for my eyes at first, but after using the phone over the months, i noticed that my eyes started to become more and more prone to eye strain. no idea if it's the phone or just that my eye health just got worse due to my own bad habits, but eventually it got to the point where it was hard to use the phone for long periods of time. so even 2160Hz isn't cutting it anymore. The "all brightness PWM mode" in developer settings didn't work for me at all by the way. If anything, using that mode in normal or higher brightness causes very bad eye strain almost immediately for my eyes. since i spend a lot of time reading ebooks on my phone, i simply couldn't stand the screen anymore and got rid of the phone. a shame, since i liked the phone for the most part. :/

Xiaomi 13 Pro or Redmi K70 Pro/Poco F6 Pro? PLEASE HELP
@axhng7 күн бұрын
it kinda depends on your main needs. if it's gaming performance, Redmi K70 Pro will be the top pick. Camera performance will be the Xiaomi 13 Pro, and if price, then F6 Pro maybe? but it's better to wait a bit. i think the Redmi K80 series will be announced in like 3 days in CN. better to wait and see what it offers first!
@Arctwx5 күн бұрын
@@axhng But would you agree that the Xiaomi 13 Pro has better overall specs except for the chip compared to the Redmi K70 Pro? Im not planning to wait for the K80 series i dont have the budget for that yet so im kinda stuck between Xioami 13 Pro or Redmi K70 Pro im both a gaming guy and a camera guy.
@axhng4 күн бұрын
@@Arctwx yeah. camera wise, the 13 pro is still the best out of the bunch. i didn't test the 13 pro but did use the xiaomi 13 for a while and even on that model, the camera performance is better than K70 Pro to me. the screen too perhaps. but snapdragon 8 gen 3 is a pretty big step up from 8 gen 2 on the 13 pro, and those camera centric phones are usually more conservative when it comes to gaming performance since the internal space is more limited due to the camera hardware. if it's just simpler MOBA games, it's probably still okay for now, but heavier games like Honkai star rail, genshin, etc probably wouldn't run as well on higher graphics.

There is a Region lock on these CN devices, right?
@axhng13 күн бұрын
out of the box, yes. though importers from like shopee, lazada, will typically work with their supplier in china to unlock the phone first before shipping it over. same for oppo and maybe realme devices from CN too iirc.

@axhng I see, thanks. I'm looking to import ace 3 pro from taobao (using proxy), guess I'll ask the seller if they can remove region lock.

Hi Thanks for doing this review .. Its the end of 2024 now just wondering is this if I get this device the same price as the New Oneplus 13 or Oppo Find X8 Pro which device would you buy please ?! Thanks J
@axhng14 күн бұрын
hi there! i feel like unless you're dead set on a foldable phone, definitely the newer OnePlus 13 or Find X8 Pro (or maybe even the realme GT7 Pro if the price is right) for sure. The newer generation of chips has pretty massive improvements over even the SD8Gen3 and D9300 in terms of power and efficiency, let alone the even older 8Gen2 in the Find N3. 😅 Not to mention as well that they both have much larger battery size. The battery life on the Find N3 is average to me at best.
@joewinglovemusic14 күн бұрын
@axhng I see Thanks I will check out GT7 Pro too then .. Hopefully the Camera is as good or 80% as good if it is much cheaper 😅😅😅

How was the Sound Quality when you tried it with KZ ZEX Pro & aptX HD ?
@axhng15 күн бұрын
it made the ZEX Pro sound a bit brighter and aptx HD didn't really change the sound quality much over regular aptx IIRC. it's been a long time though and i don't have this or the ZEX pro anymore, so can't really retest again. 😅

Xiaomi 14T or K70 Pro?
@axhng16 күн бұрын
if you don't mind using CN HyperOS, K70 Pro would be my pick. the hardware is just so much better. The gap between D8300 and SD8Gen3 is pretty huge. Even if you don't game on your phone, a more powerful processor will help the phone last longer and stay more usable in the long term too. But if it's the 14T Pro, then that will probably a slightly better option at this point just because it is newer and has IP68 rating. D9300+ is performs similarly to SD8Gen3 as well.
the simplest way is to try more foam? using double foam is a way that will give it more bass, but it's more crude method that will warm up the sound and reduce the clarity as well. other that that probably just EQ using the music player itself. but since earbuds are open in nature and doesn't seal up the ear, it has its limits when it comes to bass. 😅

Can you tell me how do you manage to play HSR & genshin on a 64 gigs phone ?
@axhngАй бұрын
back then the games didn't take up as much space, not to mention for Genshin i'm up to date with all the content, so when i delete past resources in game settings, it frees up more space. but even then, i had to delete some apps eventually too. so 64GB really isn't enough anymore. 😅

Wearing them over ear sounds better. Better seal, at least for me. When you improve the seal a bit with your fingers bass improves a lot. Especially when wearing them traditionally.
@aaronarellano9303Ай бұрын
Hi, is android auto working? Thanks
@axhngАй бұрын
hi there. most CN phones running CN OS don't support android auto. the only exception I have heard of, is that vivo's originOS was beta testing android auto support in their beta software for like the x100 pro and x fold 3 pro IIRC. but there are feedbacks that it has stopped working with a recent update. not sure how it will be for the next major versions of these CN OSes like HyperOS 2.0, ColorOS 15, or OriginOS 5 though, but for now, it's better just to assume android auto isn't available for all phones running CN OS.

I wanted to ask if you've noticed your iPhone getting warm at the back. Does your screen shake (if you touch it) when playing music a bit loud, or is it just the back that's not noticeable? By the way, I'm using iOS 17, so it's unrelated to the new iOS 18 vibration feature for visually impaired users. Thanks!"
@axhngАй бұрын
hi there. for me it doesn't really get warm still, but then again i'm not really pushing the phone hard most of the time. even when gaming i'll reduce the graphics to a more comfortable level so that it'll only get a bit warm. the speakers causing making the screen feel like it's buzzing/vibrating is there and is quite noticeable on my unit too.
@davidsanchez-bu9unАй бұрын
@@axhng Thanks for your fast reply. That buzzing is also happening in your device, I guess that is normal. I do not use my phone for playing, whatsapp and youtube with black screen... Anyway I can feel it warmer despite it is just in pocket. I really appreciate your comments, I ve bought mine 10 days ago and it is a refurbished one.

Im an oneplus 9 user thinking to upgrade to either z9 turbo+ or neo 9s pro Does ltpo 5160mah(neo 9s pro) outlast amoled 6400mah(z9 turbo+) and whats your screen on time with neo 9s pro
@axhngАй бұрын
my screen on time isn't a reliable metric since I spend quite a bit of time reading ebooks on my phone, which means my SOT will be a lot longer than normal person's usage, so I didn't really pay attention to that. but in my experience testing phones with LTPS screen vs LTPO screens, the difference typically is very minor. Like the battery life I got from the Redmi K70 Pro is almost the same as what I get from the Neo 9S Pro Battery capacity is usually the main indicator as to how long a phone will last. so if battery life is a concern for you, i'm fairly certain the Z9 Turbo+ will be a better choice IMO since it's the same chipset but with a much larger battery.

Which has more consistent performance between iqoo neo9 and neo9s pro. Im confused and can't decide between these. Please help...
@axhngАй бұрын
i've not tried Neo 9, but based on my experience with other SD8Gen2 devices, the 9S Pro will be more consistent. the chipset is noticeably more performant. but at this point, from what i can see the price for Neo 9S Pro+ isn't much different from the 9S Pro, so it might make more sense to go for that instead if stability is what you're after. SD8Gen3 feels about the same in terms of performance compared to the D9300, and it might be a bit more consistent overall because a lot of games/apps might be better optimised for Snapdragon chips. But at this point, it might be worth waiting a little longer since D9400 is launching in like a day or 2. and perhaps in a month or 2 we might see the Neo 10 series already.

Redmi k70 or honor 200?
@axhngАй бұрын
i've not tried the honor 200 so can't really comment too much, but at least looking at the processor, the K70 has better specs than the honor 200. so if you want better performance, or you game on your phone, then K70 would be the one to go for.

i wonder how the camera on the iQOO Neo9S Pro+ will perform with the snapdragon 8 gen 3 image processing , from the one picture you posted in here the iqoo 12 seems a bit better in camera quality than the mediatek iQOO Neo9S Pro
@axhng2 ай бұрын
my personal guess is that the iQOO 12 will most likely still look better than the Neo9S Pro+. aside from the camera hardware differences, i feel like they will probably not give their Neo series the exact same image processing from their flagship series because they would likely still want to have a bigger gap in terms of camera performance between them so that ppl will still have reason to buy the iQOO 12. 😅

The IPS display is exactly the reason this is the only iPhone I can use. Apple need to figure this out. Low frequency PWM is awful and terrible for your health. The eyestrain and headaches I get from using their OLED phones is awful. But no problem at all with this LCD screen. I wish they made LCD versions of their flagships.
