Thanks for reminding me man. I used to play this game a ridiculous amount when I was little. I’m 23 and randomly decided to redownload it. I have to start over and every little thing is reminding me just how much there is in the game. The palm trees are OP for anyone wanting my own opinion. You can surround a single animal with them and farm 1,000,000 coins in a day if you were locked in.

You can get God now and after waiting 24 hours 1 time you can use 750,000 to buy 485 donuts and then speed up the 777,777 over and over building up money and donuts as much as you'd like. Probably so everyone can play the whole game before it shuts down.

Why would they not just make it an offline game instead? They don't have to destroy everything for us. This is gonna hurt a lot of people since it was a big part of our lives. It's like they wanna hurt us on purpose cause why not just keep it around for us to enjoy but offline :(

I heard about the sad news that the game is shutting down soon so I've started a brandnew account for old times sake. Should I be spending donuts on the mystery box until i get all the premium characters it gives?

There was a comment on the forums that EA was losing the license to Springfield now owned by Disney with its prior purchase of Fox years ago. I can't weigh in on the credibility of the statement, and I'm just as disappointed as everyone else having built a town since 2012 (one that was featured on this channel and ranked one of the top 10 relatively recently). In any event, if EA is losing the license, they would not legally be able to continue the app, unless they received a special license to do so and maintain it ongoing. The moral thing to have done would have been to at least notice players in advance so they're not spending money on premium currency knowing they were losing the license. And, sure, Disney and EA could have worked out a limited license to even just maintain the servers so we can continue to access our towns even if premium features and new content would not longer be available moving forward, but this is EA; no money in it, no reason to offer it to dedicated fans who supported the app, a very many for over a decade. On the other side of the same crappy coin, EA developed and published the app using the licensing, so they likely wouldn't just pass the torch to Disney either without monetary gain either by lump sum payment or ongoing residuals depending upon how that deal may be structured. The bottom line is if EA is losing the license, and there's no money in maintaining it and Disney doesn't want to buy it to maintain it for the players, which between mirroring servers, potential transfer issues, and amortizing whatever amount they might need to pay upfront or ongoing to assume it from EA, the players end up getting the TSTO finger on the loading screen this time around, just not only crushing us, but using the middle finger instead of index finger while doing so. Sux! I don't even want to log into the town anymore tbh, no point in spending the time only to lose it.

Idk if this is the reason, they're cancelling tsto. I heard season 36 might be the last season of the iconic series. If so, maybe as long as the series is on air, they're allowed to keep the game going. Or maybe Disney took the rights away from Ea games. Since Disney bought fox studios they own the Simpsons.

I hope they make it offline, what a gut punch it is

Nintendo takes a different approach with Animal Crossing Pocket Camp. They are going to release a version of the game that does not rely on their servers but works as a standalone application. A one time payment. You can transfer a lot of your old game to the new when linked to your Nintendo account. They will be releasing new content through updates. Can't EA do the same?

i signed it as soon as i heard about it. i really hope there’s a way to save the game. i know it’s more wishful thinking than anything but this game means a lot to me, and to other players as well. the simpsons is my favorite show of all time and having a game where i can make my own unique town is such a fun idea. i’ve been playing ever since the days of your progress not saving when you would close out the game. i don’t wanna see it go anywhere
