I did the exact thing with washers. But pan is still on the cross member. Its in but? 67 malibu. 302 oil pan from china? It's been a year since I touched it. New Master/ front lines. That was all. I might cut the cross

Although that acts like a you joint. It does a couple more things. You might get jammed up without it on hard turns. Its meant for give and to take apart. A retractable shaft works better, i just put one in my 77 f250 out of a 94 f150 steering shaft.

Were you able to lay down any plug welds between the floor and the cross member, similar to the factory locations? I couldn't tell from the video if you had done that, I just saw the welds around the outside edges of the floor panel. You shouldnt need to continuously welds the seams, like at the firewall junction, just stitch weld it and then add seam sealer right before you lay down base coat paint. Sure looks nice having a new, complete floor in there!
@classicpatinas4 ай бұрын
Thank you. So I haven’t added any spot welds to it yet. And that’s the reason I welded the whole seam. But I do plan on adding some welds to the frame and cross member before I paint

I've got a '95 SC400 and like yours, mine is leaking really bad. I'm not even going to attempt figuring it out. I'm sure it needs valve cover gaskets, front seal, cam seals, timing belt, possibly oil pan gasket/s. I hope it doesn't need an upper pan gasket or rear seal. I have a March appointment with The Car Care Nut in Chicago. Going to drive the car to his shop and leave it with him and fly back home to Memphis, fly back when he is done and drive home. Not a single shop in Memphis I trust to work on the car and the dealership wont touch it. Mine is wicked clean and only has 114K. Makes me sick it leaks like it does.
