James, was well into this video UNTIL you started plugging your book. So we have to buy that before the 'secrets' are spilled? And if we do I'm thinking it will ultimately be some sort of snake oil remedy.

I agree with you on that jobs get promoted and those promoted jobs will get a lot of eyeballs, but not all jobs are promoted. Most companies will buy job slots (i.e. Linkedin, Monster, Dice, CareerBuilder) and they can post jobs on those slots without promoting them. Regarding Indeed and Google Jobs, those are aggregators so they scrape company careers sites/ATS systems to pull jobs onto Indeed. Yes, you can buy promoted slots but they do pull jobs in from companies career pages. I say this because there are still good opportunities out there on Job Boards that are not promoted jobs.

Any attempt to try to get on with the interviewer(s) gets shut down rapidly in my opinion. “Too familiar, unprofessional” in the feedback, or, “yes, well, let’s get back on topic please” shuts it down quickly.

I appreciate your insights but I don’t think it applies to all industries. If you’re looking for a position in tech, you need knowledge and experience rather than a great relationship with a recruiter/hiring person.

What you mentioned in that video is exactly what happened to me. I was in urgent need of a re-written cv for a job application and I knew at the time I wasn't very skilled at cv writing. As a result, I contacted 2 companies to re-write my cv but I ended up doing it myself from scratch as their versions would have lead to an immediate rejection for my application. As I finished, I was grateful that I wasn't satisfied with their results as I realized no one would have ever written my cv the way I did. The process of learning this new skill was priceless.

If you muster up the courage/audacity to apply for a position at deloitte and you haven't heard anything back, should you call them like every 3-4 days to check up on the status of your application? I am in college right now, and i have 2 more semesters left before getting my associates in accounting, but i do want to do some internship while im working towards my bachelor's and take the CPA exam... I have no idea how to get my foot inside... like I have no idea what comes after graduation. I just know i desperately need to secure an internship after getting my associates but i don't know what to expect. I don't know the accounting culture sort of speak...like what are the topics of conversations... things of that nature...if anyone would like to connect with me and give me teach me a few things about the culture i would be more than grateful

Experience , high GPA . Good communication. If u think school work is insane,. My dude had been at Big FOUR for a few yrs. The constnatn new work, new project (over lapping 5-6 major clients all the time at same time). Its extremely challenging, burn out. Ppl in the team like 2 of them have ADHD, often will get burnout fast. N some ppl who are anti social not good with clients cant work as team will burn out also a lot of Karen/Malignant Narcissist. When the REST just try hard want to do GOOD work improve life. So ppl need to be prepared to be able to accept a lot of challenges cuz auditor u work with clients, who are usually covering up crap. How to even deal with that. Is very challenging. D WORST issues getitng into BiG 3 too early, is that u lose a lot of opportunity to gain customer at person level. That its like stuns growth. Its like ud lose out the small ground work experiences. But get in yr head “i am in d BIG four, i am smarter n i made it “ My family at BIG FOUR hires interns…n he does the interview n gives recommendations. Lol. I kept being told the interns came in like working for 2 yrs, thought they earned their Sharing , like their work so easy needs to get promoted or moving to bigger roles. In fact those ppl working on 1 project, 1 thing, HAD NO concept or perception in all sorts diff environment. In fact they were given most juvie repeatative things to be done, they are not gonna give like senior level work that government contracts to be done by interns risking errors/protocols . So those interns get in their head”wow BIG four so easy” it’s like press a button. The most complicated things are like taking 10 yr at least experience to know the things are NOT right , how “unusual” that those things will just JUMP OUT at senior level ppl. GPA. Seriously. I heard the University/college new grad interview….some of them with Low GPA is very cringe. It shows . Because the work flow is so high ,,,high GPA at least shows --consistency, work ethics, integrity, choice making (oh, going party or going to study for that one weekend missing out the --connection) . Cuz like in those consuting firm…all about contracts with clients, things needs to be DONe ONE TIME> the HIGH performers still go out party, do stuff travel, but they have epic work play balance. The ppl have LOW GPA their fluctuation shows. N when they miss out something ….d BIG FOUR have to PAY huge Panelty to clients or even LEGALLy responsible. So yeah….a lot ppl like “good CV” , GOOD over all school mark, is critical from what I thought. Better to have prior work experience/ somewhere. Long ago… lol My good Lawyer friend. He got into the 1 of BIGGEST BIG LAW (1 of 3 largest) in CAnada. He went to London Cambridge for some random Philosophy…lmao i was like “lol. How did u like support yrself in ENGLAND? International studen, n UK Pound , n in LONDON. Thats $$$$$ HE TOLD me that he’s like secret genius Math guy that he went to play POKER, n supported his Education. Prob would made millions if he want to be poker player, n he bought his parents a CAR in school from POKER money, he read like prob 50 poker books all mathematics. Lol. His parents freaked ,,,thought he’s into something illegal lol. Yeah that MOVIE “21 n Me” soemthing like that in real life lol its insane. N he was gonna try to be some PHD professor . The MOST famous pylosophy guy came to school for a speech, everyone went to wash, n d dude died from heat attack like 3 days later. Made him realize whats the purpose to living n wanting to do something different. In my peak separation with my ex partner. My BIG law friend took his own time helping me thru my documents n taking to his lawyer freinds to seek guidance, n helping me for things i did NOT beg him for . N he told me he worked reall late just one night getitng thru all sorts of things to see wha try rights are n try to issue me a FREE Affidavit ( i did NOT even know why was Affidavit) to get government support to fight my legal battle (that i was alone n being taken advantage of). I started understand. How he got in his job. Thousands apply like they only hire like 3-4 ppl . He has something MORE intelligent/human grew from own experience than his drive to make money. Even tho he buys Burberry suit n drove Lotus. Later on he check in with me to see how i progressed n never like show off or try to like make me pay back or anything. He said “he did cuz the integrity of being DECENT Human-being” that he did about $3000 worth of work for me for free . I didnt ask. N i was trying it introduce my good looking gf to ask if his cowoekers were single . He told me some of them were pigs using women . They were TALL hot suitors high up at Financial District . 51th floor. They rotate ppl. I wss shocked that he was apart from other high earning suitors(aiming for partner) , that he had such high level of decency even tho at work he’s stern. Yeah GPA, track record, Social, but being Genuine. I watched my family interview intern (during covid) remotely. Some of them just TAlk the talk , some are So eloquent. The high EQ one, is utter impressive, while i was spotting a Narcissist young face is utter sweet good looking talker to be smooth, was so creepy. I literally saw a Psychology major of U of T, trying to like apply for BIG FOUR IT like:”one year i took 1 course working in 1 project…i had to learnt to build the system “ those ppl all they care is NOT work , but they want the BIG FOUR. Some interns get in the “BIG FOUR” could be curse. Cuz my family sitting there as senior position, there were like 3 interns like mocking him texting at work thru company network “ ewrr, that guy why is he still here i bet he is not even working , i will never be sitting there (my family just transitioned from new office didnt have time to get ASsigned desk). “ n they were like TAKING PIC of him sitting there hustling working on Major bank for some head office high level stuff. N joking thru email n accidentally sent it to HIM or included him in it since the group msg. HE like reported to HR> n the dude was IMMEDIATELY escorted OUT OF BUILDING fired. Yeah if u get into BIG four as INTERM. U will for sure meet some arrogant losers, its inivitable, they will drag u down . Those 2 almost lost their own internship they worked for 4 yrs for because MIRRORING that 1 douch bag white kid thought he’s so HOT. N u wil meet some back stabling losers , n yet gain some spine stilling working alongside of others who just doing life trying to make it.

@@mikemastoros1219 u prob learn a lot more in small set up company , than going to big FOUR as intern because it can be exposed for all sorts things, at BIG four company so huge, they let interns do most small work repeatative thing. N so when u actually want to apply a NEW job post grad, the NEW COMPANY will. Have HIGH expectation for yr delivery, n its MORE stressful and can actually portentially make it “worse” if they expect u from BIG FOUR like expert. But over all working as BIG four is great cuz will for sure solid career starting point.

Big 4 employees are extremely underpaid. I’m talking somewhere in the 30-70% range underpaid. It’s a joke. It’s borderline slavery for greedy partners. No wonder accounting firms are facing a shortage. Pay the employees more money!
