Ahh Brandon, revisiting Jimmy Graham will only lead to headaches, ulcers, or nose bleeds...LOL. It's probably fair to guess that Cable and Carroll wanted to turn Graham into a TE that can block, and Schneider said "Really?" That said, if we start seeing Christian Haynes playing LEFT Guard, who gets the blame if that fails? MacDonald and Coach Huff/Coach Grubb, or does this look like Schneider not wanting to spend money on the OL? Schneider has made some GREAT draft picks over the years, but OL has been his Achilles Heel for years imo. I also think Jimmy did score something like 10 TDs his last season, but might be wrong here. Think they threw 'jump balls' in the end zone for him. But totally agree with your main point, very sad that they tried to turn him into a blocker...wow. Looking forward to your next live stream. Go Hawks!

Well, that's what happens when you trade your Center. The o-line regresses and the TE has to be used as a blocker to compensate.

Well it’s hard to say it was ridiculous at the time of the trade. Jimmy was an all-pro level TE easily top 5 nfl talent, not to mention Russ needed a big target for the red zone. The biggest mistake was the underestimation of how good Max Unger really was, he also was a pro bowler level Center that the saints needed desperately to anchor their subpar middling OL. I blame Carroll and his offensive schemes of run first mentality that ultimately ruined what could have been a huge target for Russ. But remember he did blossom very late in his last year in Seattle with 10 TDs that year too

The head scratcher was using him as a blocking TE, they used him wrong from the get go. I will never forget when Greg Olson came in and said he suggested some things and the staff is like, “We cant/don’t do that here.” Mind blowing, Carroll had no idea how to effectively use TE’s. Fant is a stud, he just needs to be unleashed.

Darrell Bevell always needed s slash player, from Percy Harvin . He made excuses saying "If I just had this guy , my offense would be unstoppable" He (Bevell) was trash and we are still looking for a center to this day.

I agree, 100%… If we had an actual plan to utilize Jimmy Graham, the way that he had proven over and over again to be capable of, then maybe it would’ve been worth it. I remember thinking that it didn’t bother me losing the draft pick as much as it bothered me losing Max Unger. We haven’t had a solid Center as consistent since Max went to New Orleans.

His offensive line was flat-out mauling people in these clips. Giant running lanes, not getting touched until 25 yds downfield. Front 7's getting knocked down and pancaked like bowling pins. From my perspective Holani has a Chris Johnson style without the top end speed. Has nice acceleration off the block from stationary. Finishes runs with aggression and will jump over people like Carson. I also want see the clips of him getting hit in the backfield and how he responds. I also want to know how well does he churn out the 3 yard gain after getting hit in the backfield off the snap. Great video! Dude definitely looks promising.

QBs are getting paid too much. They might be the most important position but that doesn't warrant that amount of money. It's a teamsport after all and everybody is putting their body on the line. Can't have a league where Rbs are haggled with while they have the shortest career and QBs getting money that would make both of them high paid players

Interesting camp battle. Wondering if the ratio of te's to rb's switches. K9 and Charbonett could be lead backs on a lot of teams. They probably keep four but its curious to see how they feel about Mcintosh.

Im surprised at the other few comments. Haynes has shown strength, speed, and IQ. Not the most physical guy but enough. He cant be too big otherwise it goes against our newest scheme. We will be a very mobile offensive line which is why this guy needs to get going. Our vets on the O-line are too slow and Anthony Bradford has been injured majority of the offseason. Haynes could be our answer, i hope he starts at right guard.

The curious case of Haynes. Everyone says hes great. Though....john has missed a ton of his oline picks. Like nearly all with question marks if cross is the real deal and lucas can actually play healthy here on out. Hope haynes is the end of johns curse.

@CasualClinkz John has 18 (?) Oline picks. Can you remember one of them who signed a second meaningful contributing contract with Seattle? Maybe cross turns it up this year. Maybe Lucas who was the real deal comes back as good as advertised. But okung, carpenter, ifedi, Moffitt, glowinski, odhiambo, Poole, pocic, Bradford, haynes, lewis, forsythe, and maybe a few others we moved off of as soon as we could.

@iron_bison
@iron_bison 3 күн бұрын
@CasualClinkz nah. It doesn't work that way. I like John. But I'm not doing the all good picks are John's picks, all bad picks were Pete's picks thing. He's been here 15 draft cycles. I have big doubts the coach is sitting there banging the table for third round olinemen and John is a little toady doing his bidding. John said this off season he ran/runs the draft. He also said he doesn't prioritize interior olinemen. John famously drafted Wilson when Pete had doubts. John also infamously wanted to draft Andy Dalton the year before and Pete told him no.

If he blocks behind the line of scrimmage it won’t be good for our offense. With the tape you showed almost all his sets were passed that line. Yes he tries to finesse yet in the nfl we need movers that our tech sound. I’m not sure if he’s ready to move.

Like it. People are so focused on TE1 with Fant being our guy. Fant seems more specialist finesse weapon where Barner will beef up our O line, blocking down field, and he’s additionally a weapon who can catch and shed tacklers for YAC. Love the healthy Uncle Will comp, that guy was a stud and sadly got hurt. Let’s go, AJ!!!

The owner decides on the front office who intern decide on coaches, staff, and players. So he could have as much or as little control as he wants. Think about how involved Jerry Jones is in the Cowboys vs. someone like Paul Allen was.
