A great example of this is if you play the game 'I Love Hue'. It's just a color sorting game but it's wild how a tile can almost seem to change colors completely just because of the colors it's next to.

I had never heard of 'I Love Hue' but just checked it out. It is so cool! And such a great example of color relationships. Thanks so much, I'll share with my class.

Are there any books i could read in order to understand this concept better? If not, then anyone else who believe has dived into this topic really well?
@SaraJeanW8 ай бұрын
Yes! There are so many great books on this subject! The most beloved is Josef Alber's "Interaction of Color". I love "Color" by Betty Edwards. An old one is Michel Eugène Chevreul’s "The Laws of Contrast of Color". "Vision and Art" by Margaret Livinstone is super interesting in terms of how our brain processes color.

Hey There, I want to talk about your KZbin channel. I Saw and analyzed your channel and found some issues. Due to this your channel is not getting many views, likes, comments, and subscribers. As a professional social media marketer and KZbin expert, I'm sure you're not focusing attention on optimization and video promotion. Are you thinking about optimizing your channel?

All these examples are really helpful. I’ve gotten where I’m happy with my foregrounds most of the time but my backgrounds are lacking.
@SaraJeanW10 ай бұрын
Thanks, John, I am glad you found it helpful. And I feel the same way! I have a tendency to treat my background as an afterthought and a lot of my students do as well. I'm trying to be more conscious in my own work about every single mark and brushstroke in the background being full of intention and heart and that the foreground and background are in sync.

Half of these are expressionist, modern, or pop art paintings, not neo realism. What would neo realism even mean? Realism has always been about painting the subject as accurately as possible.
@SaraJeanW Жыл бұрын
Your critique here is totally fair and accurate. These are all videos I share with my students prior to a class and not created just for KZbin and sometimes the titles don't make sense out of that context. In this case I was attempting to be playful, which is what I do in my classes, and not really trying to be true to art history terms. My use of realism here means an artist's attempt to capture a realistic portrayal of a human figure, human being, human face and then I played that with the Nouveau Realism term - but my gag obviously fell flat! x

@@SaraJeanW so is nouveau realism the same as pop art?
