Steroids were the reason you had players able to hold a heavy work load and perform out of their minds. Now you cant take any kind of steroid unless prescribed for Low T. Steroids are a great tool for recovery and the reason the league took the stance it has was because they were snitched on when they had their pants down and wanted to psyop the entirety of the entity into thinking it was never okay with it. This era saved baseball and could've lead the way for a better relationship with steroids had it have been an open discussion.

Is there something they can take legal that can bring back the bombs, when I grew up Frank Thomas Bonds, Bagewell, Albert bell, mo Vaughn, David Justice, Gary Shiefield, Cecil fielder, Mark McGwire Sammy Sosa, Manny Ramirez, David Ortiz, the Crime Dog , Jim Thome and the best Ken Griffey Jr we had stars like this growing up and we all wanted to be like them the last of the Sandlot era in the inner city we used to play pick up games like basketball but that’s unheard of these days.

I understand both sides when it comes to the controversy of whether or not players we know were using steroids should be in. There are two things that I think about often when it comes to the "Steroid Era". 1. Steroids were simply an epidemic in baseball at the time. There were so many players who were using steroids at the time, and not just the bigger names. Plenty of players who were nothing special were using steroids. However, for some reason, people only say a player "cheated" when he's an "All Star" player. There are plenty of players who were nowhere near "All Star" players who used them, but only the "All Star" players are labeled cheaters. 2. Every team had players who were using steroids. Not one team was entirely clean in that era. Look at the teams who won the World Series titles during this era. Should we take away those World Series titles and say they don't count because of the players using steroids?

To be fair, with all the supplements and nutrition these guys are on today, they are basically machines. As we advance, so do athletes. You could say everything that they do today is a form of performance enhancing. Plus, pretty sure steroids were known about in the 60s and 70s… not to mention the amphetamines they used to actually enhance performance in game.

People don't understand how little impact steroids had on baseball. It is a talking point. Look the people today. They hit massive home runs without being on steroids. Bulk is the enemy of speed. You need bat speed to hit homeruns. That is how guys like Griffey Jr and Strawberry could hit mammoth home runs. What makes a big difference is the stitching of the ball and how people pitch the game. Harder throwers will mean the ball travels further when hit. Sure Sosa got stronger, but his jump in numbers also came with how he changed the way he hits. Look at earlier Sosa and look at him during the height of the home run chase. He changed where he held is hands. And of course he swung for the fences every time up. He hit a lot out of the park but he also struck out a lot. McGwire was the missing link when he came out of college. He hit 49 home runs as a rookie. The guy was just a different type of physical specimen.

Best era in baseball. They need to bring the juice back. Have mandatory testing to make sure all the players are using the juice, if they get a negative test they get suspended.

(1) For gay guys like me, you are damn right that The Steroid Era is the "most exciting time in MLB history." The guys looked great. (2) But for those not into homoeroticism - and even for a lot of us who are - the Steroid Era is NOT the most exciting time in MLB history. It is a disgrace.
