I finally figured it out: Your art perfectly embodies the vibes of Zelda Link's Awakening's animation / Switch remake, and Echoes of Wisdom, by extension. Seeing the Sword after some upgrades in Echoes of Wisdom reminded me of this video, and I realized this must be why I love your art so much.

Your videos inspired me to start making art for my personal Dnd campaign because they are so approachable! I am now branching into drawing a lot more, largely because of this channel. Thank you!

Have you seen the Dyson Logos book of swords? I think you’d love it!

@ Dyson has done a lot of maps in the official d&d books. One year during September he did a “swordtember.” Drawing one sword per day. He made a promise to himself that if he drew and statted all 30, he’d release a kickstarter so fans of his work could purchase a compilation of them all. I feel like its right up your alley. That premise of doing a simple thing everyday and eventually having something awesome.

I recently went back to drawing my maps again, and binging your vids to knock the rust off. As a child and d&d fanatic I spent countless hours completely immersed with a pencil and graph paper.

Dude! You just took me back to the early 80's when I used to sit inside during the hot Texas summer and draw these. I'm going to have to incorporate this into my campaigns. Thanks for sharing!

I'VE DONE THIS! And it's WEIRD! If I draw with my off-hand, it comes out slowly and ends up looking like somebody else who can draw tried to copy my style a bit. But when I try to write anything it just looks like I had a stroke. When I was five. And then spent the rest of my life drinking heavily. Really awful.

Spiral notebooks were the worst! I eventually solved the problem by using the notebook back-to-front, like a Japanese notebook. Still do.

The map turned out awesome! I love the line quality 💜
@rangereric188 күн бұрын
That is quite the challenge! The difference in the quality of the lines is actually a positive for me. Gives it character! I don't know if I could stick with that or just give up out of frustration. Probably the latter, lol.

You think this is hard? Have you ever tried _rolling your dice_ left handed!?
@sethusk8 күн бұрын
The funny thing is every left hander knows that writing a lot on anything has consequences. When I would hand write reports in school with a pencil the bottom of my entire hand would end up covered in graphite. It's just how it is when your write from left to right in English.
@MithrilBiscuit8 күн бұрын
As a left-hander who had to learn to write with my right hand (due to a hand tremor I developed years ago), I really appreciate this video! Well done! If you stick with off-hand writing (or lettering, I suppose) I think you’ll find, as I did, that it won’t take as long as you think to “get good”. Give it a try, you’ll see!

As a left hander I finally feel seen! Try using a dry erase board and tell me how terrible that is.

Welcome to the sinister side of making maps.

Im a natural left/ west hander myself but do understand the smudging by the edge of the palm thing, there are easy solutions luckily . Its highly appreciated you shine some light on left hand drawing and helps other right/ east handers adapt to use their other hand. Odd fact is that us lefties adapt easlier to also draw with right gand than opposite🤔 Comes down to the criss-crossing of left brain part controls right side body and right brain part controls left side body🤯

One of the most beautiful character sheet I ever see. Love it!
@TheCrisses8 күн бұрын
If you don't have grey and want to start today, try a highlighter pen, or a crayola marker. So your shading may be blue, green or yellow…add why to the story? Is it lit by fungus? Is there a misty miasma to the dungeon? Lit by wizardflame? Goblin lantern fuel burns with a green glow. Make something up. If you're going to use markers, make sure to put a protective sheet of paper under the map while drawing.

Found a way to put an isometric grid in Affinity apps…nice.
@werewolf748 күн бұрын
whats cool is you could have elevated areas, ramps, pits or even if the room has a sort of bowl shape.... with a ridge along the edge. I am not in love with the doors. I would go like 1/4 into each side like an arch but other side very cool. You could also make a pass through hole much more convincing... stalag-mites/tights ...
