Little struts are called legs, when used to keep long-keeled boats upright when drying out.
@LifeFourPointZeroКүн бұрын
Ah, yes, I remember someone calling them that. Thank you for the clarification. I typically call everything a ‘thingy’ when I can’t pull up the correct word but this is much better!

Funny you ask!! We are behind on our videos but eventually you will see that we did, in fact, cross the pond! We just completed the ARC-plus from Canaries to Cape Verde then to Grenada. We arrived in Grenada just 1 week ago.

… and, yes, we always had Sea Rose hauled out and put on land. Costs varied greatly depending on where we were. Italy was pricey but we absolutely loved the marina we were at. The two locations in Greece were the cheapest, locations in Scandinavia were in the middle. We always established a relationship with a marina/boatyard early in the season then worked toward our goals knowing we had a good home for her for the winter.

Thanks so much for sharing your experiences and these so beautiful places! How was your experience with the place where you left the boat for the winter? Any tips regarding leaving the boat for few months there? We are sailing there this coming spring and planning to leave the boat for the winter to do a second season in Norway in 2026. Thanks!
@LifeFourPointZero11 күн бұрын
We had a great experience with Skattøra Marina. We winterized the boat ourselves and put much of our stuff (linens, cloths, etc) in storage, we always do a whole list of tasks to leave our boat for the off-seasons. Despite the harsh weather conditions In Tromsø, Sea Rose made out just fine!

It is not colder or warmer waters - it's the tide going in and after 6 hrs. going out...
@LifeFourPointZero8 күн бұрын
Thanks - yes, of course the bulk of the turbulence is the mass of water movement driven by the tide cycles. I just re-listened to what I said and I could have been more clear but it is not at all uncommon for water temperature differentials to cause the vertical movement of waters within the lateral/horizontal flow caused by the tides. Thanks for watching!

Thank you so much for your videos of your travels in and around Scandinavia. You seem like a really nice couple, down-to-earth and laid-back. The kind of people that's easy to like. Norways west coast has the most dramatic landscape Scandinavia can offer. Beyond beautiful and majestic. Being a south Scandi myself, living in Helsingborg Sweden, I always planned to visit Norway but thought to myself that I could do that when I'm older so I prioritized longer trips out into the world. Now I'm older (63) and think I need to explore my neighboring countries before it's too late. You have given me inspiration to do just that through your films. Thanks again, and I wish you all the best in your future adventures.

Hi Karen & Tom. Love your Chanel! Great fuel for dreaming of buying my own Jeanneau SO. As Kegakega commented above it is called the Svolvær Goat 🐐 or" Svolvær Geita" in norwegian 🇳🇴. Sorry, I dont know the climbers either. But it is a popular climbing destination. Especially the “jump” is spectacular move that you will find on lot of KZbin videos 🤙🏻if you search "Svolvær Geita" Enjoy Cabo Verde! Keep on sailing ⛵️🥰

Love your videos and the way you show the country and tell your story. One little tip though, its a bit hard to follow your voyage on the map, locations of som of the stunning anchorage’s, even if you tell the names. Difficult language and pronunciation.. Wold be nice to show by text on screen, or on a map a little more often. You inspire others to follow your route anyway, keep the videos coming 😊.
