Love this! I was 15-16 years old and operating the carbon arc projectors at my local drive-in theatre! It was the time of my life. The drive in closed in the early 70's....Still haven't got over it. Thanks for this!

Wow! I thought I had seen all of the footage of me as a small child, but I guess I was wrong. My parents were missionaries with the C&MA in Taichung during that period. We must have been at Sun-Moon Lake at the same time as you shot that footage. We may well have been on the same trip together, as my folks did a lot of outreach with the serviceman at CCK. I am the little toe head with the buzz cut you see from time mark 15:14 to 16:14. You can also see the back of my Mom (just recently deceased) and my Dad (now 88) in that same time frame. Did not see my sister, as she must have been hanging out with mom (not interested in the feathers). I am now 60 and that Taiwan era of my life seems a couple of lifetimes ago. Thanks for putting the footage together!

Can the chains that drive it be replaced with belts? I saw pictures of a rebuilt one that appears to not have the chains but some type of flexible belts. ?

Your setup & collection is amazing. The hinged rollout screen is genius, and the sliding changeover douser too! I too grew up showing films (Reg 8 & Super 8mm) for family & friends. Started collecting 16mm in high school and whatever I could borrow from the Public Library's 16mm collection. And my Dad let me turn our basement rec-room into a theater. Now, it all sits in storage...but your video is VERY inspiring to say the least!

My father Master Sergeant Douglas P Riley was at CCK in 1967 - March 18th 1968 when we think he was killed in a motorcycle accident with a bus on a road outside of the base. He was an air traffic controller. If anyone has information about him or remembers him please let me know.

In 1868 our GV (USMC) C130 had mechanical issues. We went to the airmans and nco club and were turned away, just more air farce bs. Thanks for all the American kia's from your slack. My cousin and a buddy were radio ops, when it hit the fan if air farse birds were on the way we would tell them to RTB, the sitution was well in hand. Friendly fire is a bitch. Semper Fi Rtb means return to base,

This was my first assignment in the Air Force 314 EMS AGE. I was 20 years old and I had a good time of my life. I meet I lot of friends, specially downtown Taichung. After 15 months tour I extended 12 months and then 2nd extension it got turn down. Then I was sent to hell at Minot North Dakota, I'm glad I got out of that place in 5 months, then I was back oversea at Clark Air Force base Philippines. I got the assignment as a home of record, because I enlisted there in 1969. I really love this film at CCK, thank you very much for sharing and god bless.
