Regardless of the outcome, stand and be counted.” That’s a powerful message because it speaks to calling and it speaks to identity and it speaks to purpose. The forgotten and the unobserved have a voice and wealth is not the indicator or value. The way one uses their voice for justice and compassion is the true marker of value in life.

This is 10 years old and still as relevant as anytime in history! Beautiful, powerful, compassionate words by a man who has clearly lived through the same situations he is working to improve. I’ll be doing what I can to support his work and ensure that we have a voice that is heard. Not on a basis of religion but in a basis of humanity.

I was born in georgia , my brother was born in south carolina, my dads people were from mississippi and my moms family had a large plantation in virginia.. the confederacy declared their independence exactly as the original 13 colonies did against the british. They foughf a war for their indepennce and won. The confederacy fought a war for the against the industrial might of the north. Machine against "heart" -bravery. And flesh could not prevail. The confederacy was crushed. Its been many years and the south has been denigrated, maligned and vilified by the north quite a few of us still believe our cause was just. I'm married to an American and am always surprised as to how desentitised people are at mass shootings, gun violence and deaths by guns(suicide/homicide). I'm glad to see you and your family are safe in Australia which has had one mass shooting (4 or more people) in 25 years versus 600 a year annually in America. Australia on a per capita basis used to have a worse gun rate than the US, but finally said enough is enough. This is a powerful story and amazing activism to help keep families and loved ones safe from gun violence/mass shootings.
