I have my Rover 75 in the garage for a new clutch kit and the lad showed my play in the flywheel saying it needs replacing, I checked with DMGRS, and a rover facebook group, and now yourself have confirmed that this play is normal. Thank fook because I just spent my christmas money on getting the clutch replaced so I can go visit the grandkids, and the price of a new flywheel almost did me in. Now I know its perfectly fine. cheers

Also, there's another issue with the Cam Adjusters. Another video I watched showed it Spewing Oil and Jumping while being rotated. Did you have any issues with the Adjusters? I'm Wondering if the Tone Ring Shifting issue could be what's causing the Adjusters to do that? Or they Just become Defective as well?? 🤔🤔

@@nedunonnyp704 the tone wheel has nothing to do with the phaser/adjusted, usually the jumping gear is bad or there is no tension on the chain and the cam is slapping over

I See you have the same NA M276 As Me (and Most Of Us) Another guy on KZbin mentioned that the NA M276 Engines does not have that Cam to Tone Ring Etching. But I see that the New Camshaft You Bought has it. Did the Camshaft you replaced from this Car have that Etching? He ended up welding his (another guy did the same welding) and it should hold, But those were on the Turbo M276 engines. So I'm wanting to see if the Non-Turbo Engines have that Etching or if there's another way to Find/Verify how to Reset the Tone Ring back to Spec on the NA engines..??? 🤔🤔

@@nedunonnyp704 if you do not have the etching which is only on one part there is no way to line it back up, the only way to do it would be set timing and look through the cam sensor windows as per the repair manual, you should see almost half a tone ring in each window, I’ve suggested possibly tapping the tone wheel that is not half way to make it half way. You really have nothing to lose, sorry if it doesn’t make sense

Hi, I have a 2012 Gli and am trying to figure out where to support the engine from, the hooks usually on the cylinder head for doing this are missing, is there another good spot to support it from? or do you happen to know what those hooks are called?

@@12x12 hmm, you could make your own, or if you have a metal oil pan you can use a jack on that instead

Thank you for this video. It was definitely very helpful. Unfortunately, I had to take the manifold out because I had too much trouble getting the low pressure fuel line back on. But where I am a little stuck/concerned is that the new pump does not slide in easily. The new one seems to be oriented the same as the old one but wondering if I still need to crank the engine. Once it is lined up did it slide in fairly easily? For me I feel like it is hard to push in.

Thanks so much for this video (and all your videos, they have been super helpful to me working on 2 VW Golfs and an Audi S3!!!). I had this exact same issue - swapped the magnetic solenoid which didn't fix it, so ordered the valves and tool - and voila, all is good now. Only symptom I had was the nasty rattle at tickover - car otherwise ran perfectly, but on taking apart the old (inlet side) spool valve, it appears exactly as the one you show with that broken internal piece of metal. Thanks again!!

How long does the gasket sealant last? I had this job done by a dealership at about 80k miles and now having a leak again at about 116k. Wondering if the dealership even resealed or if the seal just failed again (twice). Thanks!

Did you make a custom oil pan or are you using boost brothers? Dreaming of putting an 07k in my NA, are the engine bay dimensions and mounting situation similar for a Miata vs an Exocet?

@@Loot123yt im using a boosted brothers pan, you will need a v8 subframe, and to modify the chassis like the b8 guys do, best thing you could try to achieve is trying to adapt a stock Miata transmission if possible. I used a t5 which is pretty short and not ideal shifter location

@@carwerks101 i have 2 DMF luk lying with me that are faulty and they rattle noise when fitted. They have exactly same kind of play. In perfect ok DMF there is movement but it takes alot of force by hand to move the plates. Not as easily as you move in video

Mine does the same thing. Clutch vibrated from the get go. Clutch hub ended up with sheared off splines. I’m not certain if it was the flywheel that did it as the gearbox splines are worn. If this amount of rocking is normal, then it was the gearbox. If not, it was the flywheel. I’m only a backyard mechanic but I’m thinking Sachs doesn’t send out defective flywheels.

I have watched a dozen videos in advance of starting my install. This one helped but I don't get the music playing. I would prefer hearing the narrative of the un-install work. Its the details of what is going on that we can't really see that is needed not background music. Thanks anyway it still helps to watch the process.
