WIsh they would have discernment for marriage (dating is not that). Pre-cana is a few hours. Seems harder to become a nun or a priest. Marriage is just as serious a sacrament as becoming a priest or nun...you wouldn't know it though. Best of luck

most nuns are not women who are afraid to be alone, they feel a real inner call. if someone like this was running away from something and thinks a convent is a safe escape, it will happen like it did for this girl, that the nuns will see it is not a good fit. like they did for this girl. Religious life is amazing and much more satisfying than a life full of temporary things..... this includes a husband, everything eventually leaves us. God never does

Religious orders - where unintelligent Catholics escape when they want the church to think for them! I hear that America is getting its priests from Africa because our seminaries are empty! Women are more stubborn, so religious orders for women are not going to die anytime soon. Nunneries: warehouses where Catholic women kneel until they come to the realization that God wants us to be in the world: doing good.

I dont even belong to a religion and even if I did, I dont think it would be any radical change of lifestyle or values, but the topic kinda fascinate me. And it seems like those who choose that lifestyle are usually really good people, and thankfully actually fullfilled in what they do

Just because you don’t want to don’t tell others it could be a great fit.

You are absolutely right. You have discerned correctly. You do not belong in religious life. Thanks be to God for helping you make the right choice. God Bless.

Very good! I saw this right after a video on -- Carmelite nun of a monastery in Christchurch, NZ. * With due respect to Nuns and their choice, Celibacy is self-torture! IMHO, *CELIBACY is UNNATURAL* and, If Jesus did not ordered, why ADD Celibacy in religion?

Remember too when discerning religious and consecrated life, that there are also Hermits, Consecrated Virgins and widows living the religious life as solitaries in the world. 😊💖🙏

I have been in single life for 17 yrs after a 14 yr relationship where I had 4 children, I was not religious at the time. Things changed after I went to confession at a Franciscan Monastery after the relationship ended, I wanted to become a lay sister though I was told by my spiritual director to wait for 6 yrs to decern, I did not feel called though I now live under the Law of Grace. The truth is I was called at 17 yrs old to France to care for the sick at Lourdes Grotto it was a Vocational calling and I didn’t go because I felt afraid to go alone to a foreign country, maybe I took the wrong path in life only God knows. 🕊️❤️🔥

I am a Franciscan sister, and our novice mistress told us that to be a good sister, you have to have the capacity to be a good wife and mother. One does not negate the other. To be a good Religious, the individual must be able to love in every situation one encounters; that means self-control and benevolent thinking of another person. If the individual grew up with good parents, that skill was learned at home. When a young woman wants to enter a community, she is carefully observed and one learns to discern what is right for that person. I have had my ups and downs but have been a happy Religious. Before I entered, I began as a Journalism major and took classes in nursing. When I entered, I was asked if I would like to teach. I am a high school teacher. Yes, we pray much, but so do other people. My cousin in Germany is a mother of 3 girls; she goes to Mass 2xs a week + Sunday. What is important is to discern what is good for you. Any choice must be free and fearless. Any vocation: marriage or Religious Life, or being single can be an escape route from something, but that is where maturity takes hold of the person and clear choices are made. I asked a young woman once what she was majoring in. She answered 'husband'. I asked if she had other ambitions. She answered, 'Yes, lots of money'. To me, that does not sound like the discernment for a happy life.

We often go through life wondering why God allows us to experience things, especially if the experience doesn’t make sense at the time. Thankfully, God uses everything we’ve learned or experienced in the past to be able to deal with the present. See more in my reply. (I hit the send button by accident.)
@LizLT556 ай бұрын
I believe that He uses such experiences for the benefit of His kingdom as well, and clearly that is what happened with your discernment process. He is using your experience to help others who are experiencing the same situation. This is your Esther moment. “For who knows but that you are in this position for such a time as this.” Praying His blessings on you, your ministry and your family.

I have a calling for religious life but also to be a mother 🥲
@joane245 ай бұрын
Technically speaking, all women have a call to be a mother, for a motherhood is the maturity of the woman - it's about giving love beyond yourself, giving care and nurture. On a natural level, it is also a universal trajectory. However, motherhood doesn't have to be biological only, but also spiritual. Just the men are, likewise, called to fatherhood, and for instance the priest fulfills that call by being a spiritual father.

I dont know where there girl in this video from but I would rathere marry god than human, I am a catholic raised old school still staying withere over protective parents, like all family has there drama and there ups and down in lifes and there split ups and there come backs, yes I still stay with my 75 yea old mum and 77 year old dad and they do not agree with me going home with men or them bringing them home or sex before marrieage, I whanted to become a nun and why I did not is just like this lady in this video said, my non abusive control freak of a dad is why I plb dont have a bf and married and I had some rought times in life, an yes im an old child and I have a slight learning disabilitie, I have the intovert personality but I like working, I see the world as it really is I do not have the confidence to flirt where I live men still act like its 1940s they belive in all blonds are dump garbage, there childish and self centerd and greedy and if they do not get what they whant the eithere leave you, give you a hard time, or act like a control freak, my parents have been married I think now for 58 years now, and what iv seen once men have a ring on your find they act like control fereaks if there not geting hat they wont they will leavel you or with their kids and traumatise there kids in a selfish way, and or retire become a control freak and leave you backstabing your kids and there kids will be resenting there parents and especially there dad, well the world dosen revolve around them anymore and e fought for nothing in this world, yes I have had a few bf that sank like the titanic lol, yes I have a fear of rejection just like men do with wemen im a normal girl, I do understand where men comeing from like fear of regection meeting there othere halfs parents and not having the confidence to make the first move I mean you never know incase they might take it the wrong way or think any negativity, but e think the same way to so yes I do understand them, maybe I think to much I know the human perfect guy is not out there we all have to work in it, but I know I plb whant to much in life, but that just the way I am in life, im a girl who knows what she wants and not an easy person to be controled, plus my gynacologist sayed there plb down below with me not being abke to have kids so that dosent bothere me long story, so that is why I would rathee marry god than human, no im not a nun but I wish I was to go throught what I am going throught just now I resfuse to marry, I just wish people could see my side in life, but to this girl in this video good luck and allways be greatfull for what you have okay. If you could be a nun and marry god withought joining a convent or as I have heard about the orders now I do not know if its true or not but there are over stricked and controling if I coukd marry god and live my life like any othere normal person and have everything othere normal person does in life I mean good decent people but be faithfull to god my husband I would could I do that? live myself and ork like any othere human being, why? because god would treat you better than humans can ever do, I wish I could marry god.

If one's vocation is to be called to live as a life of a nun of sister, then God has a plan for you. But it must be God calling you. If God's vocation for you is to be married, then keep yourself for that special person God has planned for you. If you have a vocation to be single, then be single. All callings require faith and trust in God's Grace and to live in a state of Grace.
