How does the foil turn out if you sandwich the paper between the folder, so you are using both front and back?

I'm looking into that foiling machine...but wonder, how come the die doesn't cut into the paper, like it is supposed to? Is there a bigger gap in the sandwich?

Beautiful cards, Pia, love those colors so much! When working with the negative foil, because the large rectangular plate is so big and has so much metal, I heat mine twice - when it's ready, I pull out the platform, and then plug it back in again and run it another cycle so it heats for at least 2 minutes. Also, I was always under the impression that you can't over-foil a negative piece of foil, so the more heat and more pressure you give it, the better the result, which is why I also always use a shim when working with the negative foil.
