Can you get thicker impressions with ordinary wafer thin dies and Spellbinders Glimmer Hot Foil System? YES, you can! This is what every cardmaker should know. This will make your cardmaking so much better. And it will let you get more out of your dies than you ever thought.
In this video I am showing you how. Believe it or not, but I found out about this technique by pure coincidence and laziness. I will walk you through my process while telling you my story of how this Hot Foil Technique came to life. In the end of the video I show you how to do this and what to use.

Pia, Thank you so much for this tip on how to make your lines thicker using standard dies. I did not have Quick Release paper but I figure I also decided to try parchment paper which looks similar to the Quick Release paper. It’s a product I keep in my cabinet for baking cookies. It works great. Again thanks for the tip.

very cool! i'm having a hard time wrapping my brain around the fact that you're using a cutting die but it's not cutting! and it looks like there's no damage to the Spellbinder shims? tia
@PiaKroghLarsen
@PiaKroghLarsen 3 жыл бұрын
Hi 😊 So sorry for my late response. Using wafer thin dies with the Glimmer Hot Foil System is no problem and there is no risc of damage to the shims. Reason is that the platform (the heated platform) which you run through your diecutting machine is not as thick as the standard diecutting platform. Therefore the preassure is not the same and so the cardstock does not get cut. I am linking to another of my videos which should explain this better 😄 kzbin.info/www/bejne/g3vOe62ImKyiqK8

Some of my viewers have had success with using parchment paper as an alternative. But I cannot say it it works precisely the same. Just give it a go and see if it works for you.
