hey this is an amazing advice, but I was wondering how do you pick the colors to match the initial value? do you often go back to grayscale in order to check whether the color fits? Cuz I have an hard time figuring out if the color is grey enough.

This is also why that color blind challenge tends to work very well, that being the challenge where artists apply a black and white filter to their whole desktop, draw either a portrait or a scene or what have you, and then turn the color back on in the end.

Can you do a guache for dummies series or long vid?

When I was looking into the Reilly method of drawing, it made completely no sense to me, until I read that it was a way of thinking, as opposed to actual practice. I see the Loomis method in the same light.

Line art always confused me but this video was so helpful, I now can practice with my new eyes and sketch with more intention.

I think your gouache painting is way too small for you to actually be able to add as many details as you have on the digital one. But obviously it would take much longer to paint, but its more controllable that way the digital one is lookin aaawesome tho

Bro, you are exactly what i have been looking for! I am trying to improve my drawing skills and find my style. I believe that stylized drawing is it. I wanted something in between realism and cartoon. When i thought of cartoon, i think of ren and Stimpy or power puff girls. I did not want to go that cartoony. I have tried to find tutorials and videos about stulized art/character design, and i can't seem to find any. You see it all over the UE asset world but not too much in drawing. Instant sub from me.
