Quentin was created because Jonathan Frid wanted a Brake he was on TV so much as Barnabas he was getting tired so he asked Dan Curtis and the writers to create a new character to come in and take over for a bit so he could get some rest. he was aware Barnabas was popular but he needed a brake....so Quentin was created and they did the Quentin's Ghost storyline Quentin was so popular with fans that Frid was happy about it and it ment he wasn't overwelmed with work.

I wasn't born when they started making dark shadows but I've watched every one of the episodes and I watch them sometimes when I get bored but I think Quinton is gorgeous where was a funny charming good looking man like him when I started dating. After Barnabas, Quentin was by far the best character on the show. He had the best attitude, posture, memorable lines (and could say them better than anyone). Never could stand the Laura/Penix story line though, boring and never went anywhere interesting.

That was one of the endearing parts of the show that we laughed about as kids in the 60's. We loved spotting the bloopers and laughing about them too !

it was but they changed it, my problem is over the last 3 years they go back over the same loop, all the way to dr. lang in color when barnabas in color then back to black and white as if they dn't realize fans are actually watching and want continuation! i contacted, maybe more of us should do the same at decades!

It was never satisfactorily explained why Quentin wanted to kill David but David is Laura's son as well as her great-grandson. She had him by her grandson Roger, whom she married.

Jamison turned his back on Quentin when Beth almost committed suicide because she found out he was marrying Angelique. That happened just before he was killed. Even in death he was consumed by Jamison, the only person he ever loved. Quentin saw in David the reincarnation of Jamison and saw it as his chance to get him back since the real Jamison had already died in the 1940s.
