Hi, I found my Prolinea 575e in the trash. I disassembled it and restored it. I upgraded it to P200, 3dfx Voodoo1, SB AWE32, 8GB IBM HD, network card and Win98se. Normally not officially possible, as P120 was the max. I had to do some soldering (clock-IC). I also upgraded the on-board VGA CyrusLogic (2MB) RAM and system cache (256k). I also installed a DVD drive. Everything works perfectly 👍

Hi Timmy, Justin, and Nathan! I'm Carlos Cardoso, PY1AO, and I wanted to congratulate you on making a great video about ATV. You did a fantastic job explaining the basic concepts and demonstrating how to transmit and receive ATV. I've been a ham radio operator for many years and have always enjoyed ATV. It's a great way to communicate with other people who are interested in amateur radio. I hope you continue making videos about ATV. I'm looking forward to seeing what you do next! 73! The reason Fearchar keeps remarrying Violet is that he seems to be the only one with enough charm! Roughly 50% of the time, he gets kicked out early on with the message "RETURNING TO THE MUNDANE WORLD..."--but he just logs back on and everything's fine.👍 Great video!

This was the computer I had when I was a kid in the early to mid '80s. I had a lot of fun programming basic on it and I remember playing blasto and and tombstone City. Are the games like tunnels of Doom, hunt the wampus, and alpiner were a lot of fun. I remember backing up the games and saving them on cassette tape. For the time it was a rather outstanding quality computer.

We still have pay phones in Australia they're provided under a law called the universal service obligation so Telstra our phone company has to provide them to everyone the uso so we still have pay phones in Australia and now Telstra have made it so we don't have to pay for local or national calls and we can also call to pay phones because every Telstra payphone in Australia now has their own phone number

If you are going to be successful in the UHF contest, and probably VHF contesting in general, you should probably join some of the VHF groups and make some "skeds." The trouble is you have a relatively small group of contesters, and each one uses a high gain antenna with a very tight beam width. So it's difficult to randomly find each other. But don't give up! The difficulty factor makes success all the more sweeter 🙂 73 my friends, and I hope to make QSO's with you guys soon! K9ZF EM78el

Great video. Amateur TV is one of the reasons I got into ham radio in 2003. I wish I would of kept one of my Analog CRTs. I was running out of space in my shack, and Greg was coming over. He said he couldn't sleep with that hum. I gave them to Goodwill. He slept great that night on the floor of my Shack, but I may never forgive him.

I encountered a non-blocking error, but instead of detailing it here, I announced it in LORD instead, so you have to read the daily news (or just make a new account/character today and it'd probably happen).
@3oldtechdudes2 ай бұрын
About those: Both the non-blocking and etchings crash are known issues in LORD 4.07. I've long considered rolling back to the last "Seth Able Robinson" version, v4.00a, which was super stable, but that would mean resetting the game and it's been going on for so long that I'd hate to do so! - Timmy

Last field day I went to I brought my two uncles to see If I could get them into ham radio. One of my uncles got some food and they told me this isnt a family gathering. It went downhill from there. There was no chance anyone would take off their headphones to talk about their equipment. Let alone let anyone use the equipment. We stood there and talk to each other for about 1hour then my uncles said to me if this ham radio is this I don't want anything to do with it. That was 6 years ago I never went to another one. What a disappointment. Young guys always get the short end of the stick in ham radio.
@3oldtechdudes2 ай бұрын
Excellent comment. I have witnessed this myself, and I think it's an unfortunate side-effect some groups of hams get into with Field Day...they want those "public event" bonus points, but then are unfriendly to or ignore visitors. In that case, I feel it should not be a contest at all, more of a "demonstration day". It seems to sometimes get very out of balance for too many hams. -Timmy KB9SNL

AJ1 was my first synthesizer. I still have several, and love them. AJ2 is better. Not just because of the velocity and AT, but the build quality is much better. As of 6/24, AJ-1s are about 400. AJ-2s are slightly more. Single oscillator, PWM, and wonderful Roland chorus.

You guys rock! I’ve been the “VHF Guy” for our club for years. Back in the early 2000’s I would always bring gear for 6m, 2m, 222, & 432/440. I would always pick up a few contacts on the upper bands. However, after a few years the activity on the upper bands just disappeared so I quit bringing equipment. If 6 meters opens I will pick up tons of contacts there, but hardly ever hear anyone above that anymore. But! If you guys are going to start bringing gear, I will start bringing my stuff again 😊 I can swing 6m and 2m this year, but I don’t have any antennas ready for 222 and 432/440. But next year we should easily be able to work on all 4 bands. Maybe even 900 Mhz FM too 😊 It will be fun to work celebrities!! 73 Dan, K9ZF. VHF Guy for the Clark County Amateur Radio Club field day group, W9WWI. Right in the middle of good ol’ EM78.

It always amazes me how closely our two clubs mirror each other 🙂 When I was president, I kinda pushed to make field day a more serious event so we could hone our technical and emergency service skills. And, it took a lot of the fun out of the event! For the last few years we have backed off and made our moto "just have fun"! We may not score as many points, but everyone has a good time. QRZ field day, W9WWI, 3A IN.... K9ZF

I remember the Donkey Kong port being good. Alpiner was pretty cool too. I also had a text command adventure game which featured some graphics. I can't remember the name of it. I think you wake up on a large sailboat in the beginning. Certainly better than anything that my Atari 2600 could do.

This is plain stupid as Networks are rarely hacked as they are after Data which is secure according to the ARRL. As for backups they should be stored in a 100% secure environment on an unwritable medium ( Disk ) and as such can be loaded from there.
