I agree 100% that the parents are mainly to blame for their unruly children. I also have a theory of why the parents are the way they are--it's the media in our country. Anything goes, no matter how violent, how vulgar, how insane. Our corporate media has destroyed any semblance of civilty and what should be acceptable behavior in our society.

I am a teacher in Mexico, with students between 15 to 18 y.o. I have been a teacher for up to 18 years and I am going to retire in 2026. Mexican education system has become a bad and ugly copy of American education system. Actually I hate my job. I apologize for my English. Have a wonderful day.

quiet quitting has such negative connotations for people who don’t know anything about teaching. Surely, they could have worded it better.

Bringing up children need to learn about boundaries and respect adults. Its the parents spoiling their kids, that never say no! Unfortunately, kids cant always have what they want. Unfortunately there are situations where kids cant always have what they want Once Kids can learn this there maybe better behaviour. Children are rude to teachers, than they ever used to be. Lack of respect. Learning boundaries is paramount. If there are no boundaries they think they can do what they want.

At 1:33 - You are being told what you need to know and improve on. This is normal for a new teacher. I've been there. I know how that feels. Good that you have someone to advise you so you know where you need a mentor to help you instead of just telling you at the end of your first contract goodbye. Buy coffee (or something else) and meet offsite with a 10yr teacher and listen to them tell you about their year one. I pray for you for the best that can happen and that you find a teacher mentor who will (1) be honest with you (2) offer counsel and advice from their experience. Don't ask me for advice other than that above as in the end I was not successful; however, I never connected with a mentor in time.

What is scaring me is the poor ability of the teachers to speak coherently. The vast majority look and sound like the teenagers about which they are complaining. I hear "upspeak" (interrogative intonation in declarative sentences). I see poor modeling of professional attire and tattoos. I hear the words and phrases such as "like" and "I'm all", "he's all" in lieu of a wealth of other vocabulary choices. I hear the use of intentional "vocal fry" as a device that is used to convey self-importance, haughtiness, and arrogance.

I wonder how much of it is bad modern curriculum and the removal of the Bible and basic moral standards in the public socialized school system?

Teachers should gsve baduv identity ad rights to educate the stidents instead of focusing everything on patents' complains and those pampered stilodents' choices rehardless of having a listening ears to the teachers . Everyone should have a voice to talk instead of thd "stakeholders" ...Teachers ate not service providers like customer service or superman/ superwoman who should do everything for the students in schools.

Teachers are terrified of the parents. I’m a school nurse and have seen it. It’s actually horrifying. I’m glad I’m a nurse, not a teacher.

I didn't make it three years. The kids were terrible. The administration wasn't supportive, and the parents were either neglectful or hovered to close to me.

Number One-should have been to persuade parents to teach their kids to behave in a decent, respectful way. I know that’s not realistic, but it would make the biggest difference.

This year is my 26th year teaching. Hell No I'm not giving them the satisfaction of quitting. I will retire when I hit my ideal year for retirement (four more years). MY PROBLEM - Every year they stick the worse behaviors in my class because they say I can handle it - this comes from the teachers in the previous grade, fellow teachers are the ones doing this. Someone needs to address that. Teachers in the grade below who make it harder for teachers in the next grade level. At the end of each year, if you are a teacher, you need to be aware of what kids you are putting together for the next grade level teacher. There is really no consideration at this level.

What you’re describing are boundaries not quite quitting. Boundaries are great! It’s when you show up and you don’t want to your do your job, complain about everything, constantly call in sick and you try to push your work on to your other co workers. I have my job to do and I’m not doing your work and watching you get paid for work you didn’t do
