It’s not only teachers other jobs are causing this. Think about it 8 hours is a lot for one day of work. 24 hours you work 8 that’s not including the travel time which for some is more than an hour, in addition, we need 8 hours of sleep so what are we left with?

That is correct you know my sister is a teacher. Do you know what’s going on with the teaching world in America right now? Do you know what they’re doing to our children? Do you know what they want to teach our children? I think these people are being excessively, attacked on purpose in my opinion Because they want them to quit so they can put someone in there that can push their agenda on diversity, critical race theory and I just don’t understand why they don’t just tell the parents tell the parents what they’re trying to teach the kids. It says you have no legal obligation to do so but the right thing to do is tell the parents we need to protect our children and keep boys at a girl Spaces just my opinion it’s what they’re pushing right now on our teachers on our education system on our military education and it will be stopping soon hopefully and I’m praying to God it does soon. And if I’m wrong or the reason why they’re quitting then I’m just explaining my point and what you’re doing in our educational system pushed agenda by the Biden Harris administration..

@@DemonFoxAkira apparently you went to public school where most of these teachers teach because you don't know how to read what I wrote. First of all I would never want to teach. That is irrelevant. I said that the teachers did this to themselves. That is a very true statement.

I went to college and was told to be prepared for having a co-teacher and I was all for this as it’s going to be a 50/50 split in the workload. However most teachers don’t get a co-teacher due to the educator shortage and if you do it’s not as simple as a 50/50 split as you may have to do the work of others as well as your own due to their educator shortage. I’m currently an teacher to toddlers and have a co-teacher and in “our” classroom things are split fairly equally between ourselves and our aid, however I am often asked to fill in or substitute for others who can’t be bothered to show up or work their full shift for one reason or another causing me to have the workload of 2 or more individuals. This isn’t even to mention that I have to know each and every kid in our program and what they need. This is my first job out of college and it’s so much harder than I was informed. Don’t get me wrong I love teaching but this increased workload plus behavior isssues is getting to me and it’s only been 1 year.

I’ve worked in education a long time especially in upper middle class schools. And I’ve noticed the entitlement with parents in PTO’s think they run the show and often argue with the teachers on how they should be teaching. And since they give money and resources to these schools. They get away with it. The teachers have enough on their plates to not have to deal with entitled spoiled Karen’s

I was feeling burnout and anxiety, it was the environment and people. I moved schools! I moved to a place where Im more supported and get paid more! As a teacher, your jobs will never be done. Once you realize that, you can just do what you can do. Yes, the kids are feral, also realize you didn't raise them. You can only do so much.

All about deteriorating culture. In this world all we have are divorced parents, single 304 moms, social media addiction, phone distractions, egotistical parents that see you as the enemy bc they don't trust public schools YET REFUSE TO HOMESCHOOL THEIR OWN EFFING BRATS, and schools themselves that are overlorded by government mandates which demand endless useless paperwork, testing, and literal miracles to make apathetic kids succeed. Now that Trump wants to do away with the dept of education, this brings hope bc now states will decide school requirements, not federal government, which will more FORCE parents to finally have actual accountability. This culture of millennial parents has been a cancer to modern day childhood. Now having the threat of their brat being left behind a grade will have mommy and MAYBE daddy (if he exists) get off their phones and get their lazy asses up to keep their kids accountable.

For one there's no standards when it comes to teachers. My son is in fourth grade and his teachers are complete morons he's in special need classes because he's got a learning curve and they keep pushing him and pushing him and he don't even know how to spell or do simple subtracting adding or multiplication. This all goes back to 2009 when Obama gave the 4.5 billion for all these states to create this common core agenda bull crap that all these teachers unions States and federal government got involved into dumb down our kids. And when you talk to the teachers about this oh third grade is a transition period fourth grade is a transition period and they keep passing them and passing them. So it starts with standards of teachers and they're absolutely no standards cuz once they get into the teachers union once they get tender there's no consequences for them and not for nothing the teachers that are teaching our kids just got out of school themselves and then they sit there and teach to our kids their political agendas and their agendas. So if you're quitting goodbye because you're useless

I agree with most of it, but not the low compensation. We cannot ever pay teachers enough to work the way they are working. I’m a big fan of getting rid of all the overhead putting so much pressure on teachers, starting with the Dept of Education. Return teaching to real teachers, not the money grubbing people looking for a fat paycheck. Teaching is a gift people have, then a skill. Not everyone can do it.

I was always hard to motivate but a friend of mine was impossible to motivate. I'm 60 and I still have a fixed mind set which can hold me back. The problem is that I always take feedback as personal criticism and when this happens I can lose motivation for weeks. Also I've always done the minimum I can get away with...e.g. I only ever aimed to passed an exam but never bothered to try to get an 'A' or 'Distinction'.

Try being a school district business manager for decades. 100 hour work weeks are not uncommon at all. I have calculated work weeks several times over the years. One was 107.5 another was 108 hours worked under extreme high stress, much more than being a classroom teacher. I had three phone lines, two secretaries managing my many appointments and tasks. One time, when I looked out the office windows, I had 17 people waiting for me, architects, lawyers, parents, a principal, maintenance worker and supervisor, and a general construction superintendent. I DON'T WANT TO HEAR ABOUT YOUR STRESS LEVELS....... Who do you think performs or supervises all these functionS: * Creates all budgets, detail and district wide. There are frequently over 35 discrete funds with different guidelines and spending requirements * Performs all finance, accounting, and reporting functions to local municipalities State, and Federal agencies and Departments * Performs all purchasing, bidding and distributing all your copy paper, special projects, supplies, etc. * Bids, evaluates and awards contracts for all your inusurance packages, Medical/Dental/Vision, workers comp., short and long term disability insurance * Bids, evaluates and awards contracts for all district liability and property nsurance * Manages all District elections, Budget Overrides, Bond, and special elections * Bids and awards contracts for every function, audits, building construction or renovation, special education evaluators, City busing, legal, bond consultants, etc. * Responsible for coordination of all lobbying efforts at all levels of government * Resposible for the following internal departments: Transportation, Maintenance, Custodial, Grounds, Food Service, Security, Volunteer coordination and training, Before and After school programs, Warehous Services, * Responsible for all lawsuit coordination, (many caused by errant teachers and inattentive principals * Coordnates rental of all school facilities. My list of duties has another 50 items minimum - A king's kid

My ex-wife was an educator in the public school system. She worked so hard on her own personal time doing lesson plans and grading papers and so many things. She went to school sports games and plays to support her students. The job grinded on her and I don't think she realized what it was doing to her. During the summer vacation, she was happy and light and fun. During the school year, she was grumpy all the time and bitter dark. Now, from these videos and by talking with teachers, I am starting to see how her teaching work affected her mood and lifestyle.

But yes the parents need to step up and control their children. I 1,000% agree with all of you on that. And I am sorry for the deplorable behavior of the children nowadays. And everything I say I say with the statement of I will control my child's behavior. I'm sorry for everything that you've gone through from bad behaved children. But your real problem is the system. Yes the parents need to be better parents

I’m 16, autistic and have a lot of mental health issues, and I really hope I’m not doing this to anyone. I know I’m not good at math, and I break down crying because the teacher is so nice and I feel like if I can’t do the bare minimum I don’t have any future and I’m a drain on everyone else. I hope if I can’t be a good student, I can at least be a nice kid. With anything English and art related, it clicks and I get legitimately excited to be there I really hope that compensates??

The job is impossible. Poverty is the root of the problem. The kids have to survive in the world they are born in. They are a reflection of their dangerous , violent, and traumatic lives. It's not their fault....and it's not the teachers' fault. I tried for 3 years. It's OK for something to be difficult. It's not ok to waste your life on the impossible.
