This Bottesini piece is sheer brilliance and this particular recording -- I think -- is the absolute BEST. The artists know which notes to emphasize and they remarkably play off one another. Great job!

This is the arrangement by Sivori. It is very likely that he played the fiddle part at its premiere. (The piece was written by Bottesini for two basses but rarely played in that format.)

RIP Rinat. He inspired me to start again classical playing, after 20 years play only jazz…Now I go back to music academy master degree class….He was the biggest giant of this instrument for me…Very sad, no chance to see him on concert or masterclass or whatever….

@UCFUPR8JoPcCtvbWcFsUzMYA Eudoxa strings are Flatwound Gut Core Strings, & if you look at the Tailpiece end of them you can tell right away that the core of the string is a Gut. Sorry to all our Vegetarians out there, this is how Bowed Instrument Strings used to all be made, they were all Gut Strings.
