Rip Rinat... you inspired the careers of so many young bass players, and you will never be forgotten as one of the greatest bassists to ever walk the face of this earth and the founder of a new generation of double bassists who will carry on your legacy❤️🙏🏼

Phenomenal playing! I have never heard the double-bass have such a beautiful, rich tone, let alone being capable of such virtuosity. It breaks my heart that this genius musician's life was cut so short. Rest in Piece, dear Rinat.

Ibragimov's smile at 11:35 show how much he's enjoying the violinist's playing. I bet this is a very fun piece to perform :)

you have to watch it since 10:44 they are smiling both. It is really funny part - if you are virtuoso player. They are teasing each other. Double bass started it but violin returned it with marvelous spiccato. I can tell you if I practice violin 8 hours a day for 50 years I'll never control bow like that.

Rinat the GOAT. He is soooo amazing. @ 11:40 I think that is the first time I've seen Rinat smile. BRAVO!!!

I am totally awestruck by the virtuosity of Alina and Rinat's playing. I do not have the words to begin to describe how I have been affected and inspired by this performance. Alina's cadenzas are absolutely out of this world. Also, I never knew that Bottesini was such a genius of a composer. Thank you for posting this video. You have expanded my musical horizons and have given me newfound ambitions.

The Gran Duo Concertante for two double basses was composed by Giovanni Bottesini but Camillo Sivori transcribed one of the bass parts for violin.

I had no idea you had passed. You’re Bach videos were so inspirational to me as a cellist . For all the celebrities in the world, there are many hidden treasures that pass unnoticed, and you were one of them. Unbelievable bassist. R.I.P. sir.

It breaks my heart he had a stoke and doesn't really play anymore. But he truly inspires me. His student are teaching him to play again. I'm a very good friends with his best friend.

This is the arrangement by Sivori. It is very likely that he played the fiddle part at its premiere. (The piece was written by Bottesini for two basses but rarely played in that format.)

This Bottesini piece is sheer brilliance and this particular recording -- I think -- is the absolute BEST. The artists know which notes to emphasize and they remarkably play off one another. Great job!

I've been watching this video for the last 8 years or so; and always gets me. Not only the astonishing beauty of the piece, but the incredible virtuosity of these three musicians. They're are just out of this world. PS: Rinat, I hope you're feeling much better after your health issue. All my love and respect.
