Would you have a part number for the battery adapters for the udr ? Thanx
Or you can do a basic adapter like this if you dont want to solder new connectors. Just make sure the pos and neg are correct obviously. www.ebay.com/itm/393169729907?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=J5f-2z7STPS&sssrc=2047675&ssuid=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY

Color is a big hit!! Love it. I've been sitting on one of these kits for a long time. I got the pro kit. Never opened the seal. I have a bunch of different electronics. Wondering what servo you used, and also what motor and esc would you use if you went brushless. Motor specs please! I love this truck. Just waiting on the right time to build it.
@rcilluminati26Күн бұрын
Get it going! I'm using a pretty basic Spektrum servo, S662. If I go brushless I will likely use a Hobbywing 10BL60 because I have one already, and a 4300kv motor. I'm going to try gearing first but I think brushless is the way to go just due to it being a sealed motor can. Theres a lot of dirt that gets flung into the motor area.
@rushwal2 күн бұрын
I have the Mashigan, and it continues to impress me and others on the trails. Came for the leaf spring conversion, stayed for the trail run. The reason I changed motors, and ESC, is because I was crawling on rocks, and if you weren't careful, you would launch it off rocks in reverse.
@rcilluminati26Күн бұрын
I agree, the stock esc had horrible control. Stock motor is actually really good with the HW1080

Before you take that PL Bronco body in cold weather you need to reinforce the body with Shoe Goo and drywall mesh tape. I run that body on a short wheelbase Baja Rey. The first time I ran in in ~50 degree weather, It dang near shattered on all the body corners. I ended up using 3/4 of a tube to fix al the cracks.
@rcilluminati262 күн бұрын
Wow! Thanks for the heads up, some bodies hold up way better but you normally dont know which until its too late. Ill def reinforce it. I'm making some tube steel bumpers as well.

I'm thinking some SCX6 40 series boggers or the fling kings from J Concepts? would be a logical next step for those days when the Black Mambas just aren't enough. Silly and unnecessary are often big parts of fun.

I have been horribly dissatisfied with my Outlaw. Now I think my problem is over powering it. I have some Traxxas BL-2S systems lying around, think I will try one of those. Thanks for the video, you may have saved my Outlaw.
@rcilluminati262 күн бұрын
That would be perfect, you def need to watch the power especially on 2wd. The law of diminishing returns... more is not better in this case

After watching several other vids about the Ascent Fusion it looks like that heavy oil does make a huge difference. Looks significantly less bouncy for sure.
@rcilluminati264 күн бұрын
It does! The slower movement also helps avoid a roll at times because it gives you a second to maneuver

sort of, you do need to add oil to shocks, paint the body etc... Its a half assed kit. Lol

Yes sir, that is nice! Scale is my thing. But, I am new at it and that's one of the reasons I watch rc videos to learn.
@FeralRC5 күн бұрын
We recently got one of these and when I painted the body the paint delaminated. No idea why. Never had that problem. Ordered a new body and it came with everything for around $60 straight from Kyosho. I'd say that's a really good price for what you get. I wish they made 313mm crawler bodies.
@rcilluminati262 күн бұрын
Did you use polycarbonate specific paint?
@DanBrando5 күн бұрын
So it’s cool don’t get me wrong. I love all your videos, but I just don’t understand why you would want to do that. With my UDR driven in a more scale like form suspension seem to work better, which is a slightly bigger fluid during the summer. I’ll jump it off about 2 foot jumps and the suspension seems to work just about perfect if I land it right. Is this more for people jumping higher or something?
@rcilluminati262 күн бұрын
I've found that it bottoms out a bit too easily on rough terrain and kicks around because of it. It also really helps with jumping higher.

That Proline body isn't the Proline bodies from yesteryear. It'll disintegrate from a small crash. At least it it's as bad as the 6s and 8s Arrma basher truck bodies they make. The last Proline bodies and tires I've had were major disappointment.

I love mine! I have a 4600Kv Castle motor in mine. It goes over 40 mph and is WAY too fast. I'm going to switch out to a Holmes Retro Sport to simmer it down a bit. Awesome truck it looks great!

Do you run the stock plastic gears i run mine on 2s and a brushless system and already striped gears once or twice?
@angrymelon5 күн бұрын
@@laurenzholzer2441 plastic gears so far, but I went through the rear axle and cleaned and regreased everything before I ran it. Also got the slipper set pretty conservative.

Well done mate, that looks EPIC.!! It looks so cool driving around, especially in slo-mo.!! 👍 👍 I've almost bought one of these so many times, but I've heard bad things about the gears, specifically that they can't handle brushless power.. As far as I know there are no aftermarket gears available for it. I know everyone says these trucks are about the realistic handling & not speed... But I want handling & speed.! 😉 😉 😂 😁 👍👍 I still might get one, fit a mild 2S brushless system & just make sure I've got spare gears.! 😉 Stay safe out there mate & the very best wishes from Scotland 🏴 🙏
@rcilluminati266 күн бұрын
Hello Scotland! Get one! Really nice kit for the money. There are steel gears available but they are like $110. I think brushless on 2s will be fine if you keep the punch set low and don't drive like a basher.
@alantaylor3536 күн бұрын
@rcilluminati26 Thanks mate.!! 👍 👍 You might have just helped me decide to get myself one.! 😉 😉 Hopefully I'll turn out to be as pleasantly surprised as I was when I tried my first Tamiya, again, it was the plastic gears that put me off, it turns out they're as tough as nails.!!! Oh yeah, it's definitely not a basher.! I barely drive my actual bashers as bashers tbh.! 😉 😉 I aim to have as much fun with my RCs as I can & take them home in one piece. It's nice to know my Mojave 4S or MT8 can do double backflips 60 feet up in the air, but I won't be trying it.! I much prefer to drive in a more realistic way... Also, I can't drive that well.!! 😂 😁 Cheers mate..! Subbed & liked & the very best wishes from Scotland 🏴 🙏

I can’t believe I never subscribed till now !!! Sorry man !! Love the chain link idea I’m thinking a little hermetically placed E600 on the outside of the corner of the body it makes that corner vulnerable to being hit I don’t have my udr yet but I’ll be doing the tires and body mods THANX !!
@rcilluminati266 күн бұрын
Awesome, thanks for the Sub!! enjoy your UDR when you get it. My go to method is E6000 in a very thin coat inside, let it almost dry then use Gorilla duct tape. Super strong and way easier than drywall mesh method

After watching this I have to get one. I’m really into scale crawlers but the look of this thing. I don’t know maybe it’s just how you have yours done up but I’m in bro.
@rcilluminati266 күн бұрын
Do it! Its such a nice scale truck for the money. All it needs is basic electronics (recommend a gyro), some lights and a nice paint job.
@928RENTALS8 күн бұрын
seems to have alot of rear wheel hop vs the baja rey
@rcilluminati266 күн бұрын
I think thats the trade off for the heavy rear axle setup. The stock tires are pretty stiff and the cold makes it even worse so I'm thinking a lot of that can be tuned out eventually
@6132-k1n8 күн бұрын
I have the same truck, I designed and printed an interior roll cage as well as scale accessories like fuel tank, it looks proper scale now. I love this rig. I'm curious as to why you're not running it in cold weather? I've been running mine in sub 0F temperatures since I got it (I live in Canada) and it's a blast on packed snow. The truck has actually never seen above freezing temperatures.
@rcilluminati266 күн бұрын
Awesome, It def needs an interior. Happy to hear it holds up well in cold. I've broken a lot of plastic parts in cold weather so I hesitate to run some of my trucks this time of year.
