Im really impressed with this truck. Even with minimal upgrades, it's pretty amazing all the way down to the stock tires. I have injora green inserts with injora wheels and brass rings and its just about perfect. Redcat is on their way up with this one.

Only real complaint I have for now is there is a spot for a winch servo but with the 3 link there isn't room for the spool. I use that spot for my battery and will probably just use a bunjee winch (or whatever they are called).

I wanted blue injora inserts for my Redcat Fusion but ended up with green after feeling them in someone's heavier rig. They felt stiff even in a heavier truck so i knew they would be way too stiff in mine. I have the injora brass wheel rings as well. Ive done a couple other cheap easy mods as well but it climbs great now.

Hey Man as a former Jeep builder NERD, I can respect what your doing here with your R/C models. not many people can afford to build 1:1 scale versions of their dream rigs! the smoothness of your FWD only demo is something that my college mates and I could have only dreamed about in the late 90's

Just curious, straight up better than? Portal? Should do a Capra shoot out, straight vs. portal.
@rcilluminati26
@rcilluminati26 3 күн бұрын
I definitely like it better on straight axles. Portals have a slight advantage for clearance but it handles so much better this way.
@urbancrawler1459
@urbancrawler1459 8 күн бұрын
I have yet to fully watch this but, it really depends on your terrain your terrain can do straight axles but terrain with sharp and jagged rocks typically portals will do better. However straight axles lower the cg so I get what you mean.
@rcilluminati26
@rcilluminati26 3 күн бұрын
True, I find that with straight axles I can just change my lines a bit and work around any clearance issues. Also, the Ruptures are pretty tall so its less of a problem

Nice! Shock bands solved my issue of unloading with the soft springs on my AR44 Capra. I also run the SE1200, and a few times have wanted more wheel speed. Gonna jump up on the pinion gear after seeing this. Thanks for the tip.

I love my AR44 axled Capra. Closer to scale axle width and it flat out works. I call it the Cheapra, an RTR 10.2 with a free cage, 90mm Proline shocks with soft springs, Fusion SE, Injora wheels and inserts, a Gatekeeper interior and well worn free KM3 Prolines. Damn fun rig.

I built up a straight axle Capra with Vanquish F10s and it’s been fun to see how it compares to a portal setup. I’d say the improved maneuverability and stability pretty much overshadows the loss in clearance and learning how to navigate technical terrain without portals is a good challenge.

Ooh yeah the good ol' Fusion se mate, i got a 1200kv and and 1800kv. Pretty punchy systems with super smooth low down control. Mine though are geared relatively low, although one of my crawlers runs on 2.2's. I know what mean about stuff getting overgrown at this time in the northern hemisphere. Here in the UK my local woods get massively overgrown at this time, so much so i actually prefer going out in Autumn and Winter. Epic place though and super run, Capra is a mean crawling machine! 💪👌😉😊

Nice mod.😎👍 I love the mini lmt, however the quality and design just isn't quite there imo. My whole cage is twisted and out of alignment making it a nightmare to get on everytime, having to bend the cage to get it to seat properly so can turn tabs. I don't really struggle with the tabs moving, I do struggle getting the cage untwisted one side. Tried loosening, tightening, bending here and there as much as dare but still way off. Probably end up adding spacers and longer screws to try straighten. Hate to say it but that cage gives me cheap toy feel, not the precise "expensive" model feel I expected. 🤷‍♂️ All being said... sun is out and off to play with it 😂❤

Great video! I'm thinking of getting one now that the price has dropped a bit. I enjoy scale driving vs full-on bashing. Have you tried the ARRMA Fireteam? It's huge, but it looks more scale and, therefore, more fun. Many owners(who own multiple trucks) have stated it is more fun than most. We have ticks real bad down here in Missouri, as well. I hate it, because I can't enjoy my own woods except in the middle of winter. I've been trying to build trails but time is hard to come by.

I don’t have a fire team but my buddy does and it’s a great truck. The RZR is my favorite 1/10 Losi Rey. Hammer Rey is good too but the RZR handles much better. Watch out for ticks! Use repellent and check yourself after. I’m in the woods a lot lately, so far so good.

I might have to get that bell crank for my newest Super Rock Rey build. I finally pulled the trigger on getting the entire Vitavon package for it but i am pretty sure the list of parts didnt have the bell crank in it. Comes with wheels, arms, hubs and knuckles, rear axle housing, transmission case, idler gear, rear spool, trailing arms, shock tower...i cant recall what else came in it but as i said, not too sure the bell crank was included. I want to swap out the Spektrum Electronics and was considering either the MMX8s (leaning more towards this one) or the Old Dynamite 160 amp that i have found thats new in the box. I also want it to be sensored but i may be pushing it there. I also have a 70kg 1/5 servo i might put in it but was debating on getting something a little better quality like i use in my 5ive T. Possibly may even put a Reefs 2000 or 1000 in it but im not sure i want to go that route. The S9120BLi use in my 5T has 1453.5 ounce inches on 8.4 volts and thats the one i am leaning towards. $224 for that servo though which would push the SRR over the $3k mark. I still need tires so i dont have to unglue the ones currently on it (still brand new) and i can use those tires on one of the other 2 SRRs ive got. Im unsure if i want to go with the Hyrax, stock tires, or something else. Blah blah blah Anyways, is Eviratrue an off brand of Vitavon? Yesterday was the first time I found out the brand exists.
