This brings back many fond memories of ringing at Drumbo. I always liked the sound of the back bells, probably because they date from 1791.

It's as good as any Taylor bell of its age (1885), but the ringing room has very bad acoustics and during last time's ringing (2019) it handled like horsework! it can be heard a little better from outside

Great peal, Gillets made fantastic bells. I think they were better than Whitechapel Old Taylor tenors and Gllletts were classics. Love the Guinness sign. What is it with ringers and beer lol Only tower Igor in Ireland was At Pat's Dublin , a fine Taylor 12

Can someone tell me why is it so dangerous when a bell is in the up position?? What can or could happen to someone who pulls the rope as a dare or is inexperienced??
@RingerPeter
@RingerPeter 3 жыл бұрын
When the bell is in the up position, as it comes down when being pulled by the rope the weight is 4 times greater and if you hold on to the rope as the rope goes back up you could be dragged up as well to the ceiling.
