My 70D won't work well via HDMI to USB adapter. Most of these tips worked as shown, but no matter what I tried my 70D produced a horizontally stretched image that was not very sharp. Connecting the camera directly to HDMI on a monitor worked OK. But using a USB adapter didn't work with 2 different types of adapters and 2 different computers. However, my 80D worked as shown in this video. One snag is that autofocus must be disabled on either camera to remove the gray framing bars from the image. I would have expected use of a high quality DSLR as a webcam would not be very difficult, but these cameras don't seem to suit that application very well.

I was attempting to get info on tethering Canon R6 Mark II. All of the recommendations were unsuccessful except for Capture 1... it was seamless. Open Capture 1, connect the camera with MacBook Pro "USM-C” cable. Depending where you set up your workspace click on the tether icon (it immediately recognizes the camera), and setup where you would like your images final destination (folder location) that's it. If you do not have Capture 1 app… it’s worth the subscription to eliminate the tethering issues associated with R6 Mark II.

Hi, this was super helpful. I have the mini-usb to usbc cable, along with a dummy battery, for the 70D, and it works, however, my MacBook Pro’s CPU get very hot and the fan is super loud. Did anyone else have this issue? I'm using Sonoma 14.2.1 and on the 70D I have an old firmware 1.1.1 not sure if 1.1.3 will make a difference.

GPS was built in on the Canon 6D back in 2012. I'm very mad about the fact they cut it out from the R6 and did not gave us a discount for that.

Hello! I have done all the settings you have done in the video in camera mode, in video mode it doesn’t have any option for aspect ratio. Also how did you get your image so clean without any of the overlays on the camera screen?
