From my understanding they do fit but unless the factory made a slip up (which they did) Road Runners did not come with them originally. But I could be wrong.

It looks OK but If you would have masked it around the wheel wells OK and then put a pinstripe around that stripe that thing would have looked million like $1,000,000 not meant to have stripes across the wheel wells they stick out too far it goes against the law of Whatever whatever

🤣 this was the next day right out of the paint booth. The owner did end up wrapping around a gold pinstripe with old school lettering on the tail gate. But thanks for the compliment

I see you needed to do 80% overlap with the base coat just to cover the dark sealer. you're going to need 4 coats of color just to cover without striping.

Also the overlapping varies on the paint brand. This was Nason base coat. It was super transparent. But if you notice towards the end I use a cross cross pattern on each coat. That is what prevents the striping from happening

I ended up using about a gallon and a half spray ale single stage paint. When I say sprayable I mean it was catalyzed. That’s without spraying inside of the bed. Sealer was roughly 3 quarts.

Hello what grit sand paper did you use to get to the actual fiberglass off the car before you started your bodywork on the car?

So I started out with 180 grit on a hand block. Then I used 240 grit by hand and with my sander. From there it was sanded in 400 grit to take away most of the minor imperfections

Sadly soon all combustion cars including classics will be banned from public streets in entire EU and Scandinavia :-( In Germany the Green Peoples Party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025 on by reducing all conventional fuel stations to only one state operated central gas station per city or county. Now they want to slow down all the gas station pumps from 20 litre per minute to 2 litre per minute...From 2027 on in the EU certain car spare parts will be banned too....as exhaust systems, turbo chargers and even some engine and gearbox oils...California and New York will do the same from 2027 on.... So no investments should be done in oil burning cars any longer....They even created a new kind of crime here, called emissions and smoke crime....(

What brand and type of paint did you use and why did you only do one coat of red?

I used a brand called Northstar. It’s a single stage paint and it sprays like the old Metacryll paint. And there’s actually 2 coats on the truck. I only filmed the 1st coat to show the application of it

Have a question I have a red f250 the one in the picture I did my mirrors color matched but with gray primer and they seem to be more brighter then the color of the truck did I need to use black instead of gray

No not necessarily. When you say you had it color matched. Do you mean you just gave them your paint code. And they mixed it for you? If that's the case it could be that you're seeing old vs new. Or possibly the paint you used has a different finish. Different mix of chemicals.

For some reason I can only see another comment from another viewer. It's not letting me reply directly to you. The question is. Hiw many gallons of paint total on this paint job. And the answer is just under 1 gallon. That's with 2 coats using a single stage paint.

Each shop has a different price. And you also get what you pay for in my industry. Normally though you'll be anywhere from 3,000 - 5,000$

@@daboi8035 that is a good question. The single stage paint I used on this one is a company called NorthStar. And it ranges from $150-$200 a gallon. So depending on the job you just will need to account for that. Then the sanding and masking materials maybe all together $400-$500

Just curious what’s the reason to put black down first? Does it help to see how the red is going down?

The black is a sealer called lumabase. It comes in black or white and I use it specifically for single stage paint. It helps fill all minor imperfections before color goes on. Since red is a darker color I used black instead of the white
