what about the 2 frost daggers from RFD? They are identical in every way and if you want to use them for that pesky boss in AQ40, how would you do that? The big problem is you 'used' to be able to differentiate between the weaps 'if' you have different enchantments (eg, item:1234:123 & item:1234:124). Sadly Blizz effed that up BIG TIME. So, what now?

worked like a charm ...but i did it a bit differently ... i popd the vizier seal first soo i have dclone spawn next to him ...do not kill vizier and do not pop the second seal next to the vizier one ... then go pop the other two opposite seals and kill ....then pop the top one and kill lord deseus ... then go back to vizier and clone to have vision of them then pop the last seal then kill vizier ideally having dclone in sight ... blizz sorc btw :D

Inferno just isn't well designed Gogs AOE is cool except its rarely beneficial and often just hits your own units Imps are whatever - I don't hate them just for being the worst Pit lords suck and their gimmick is too much of a gimmick and doesn't work properly in a normal army Efreetis are awesome Devils are awesome Hounds are pretty good Demons are just whatever But nothing really fits well together and I blame the gogs hitting your own units + pit lords mechanic being goofy

Sooo that's like 100% more damage assuming they don't have defence? BC that's alot of extra damage defending a base! Is their a top tier list which base would benefit more. I do alot of team base matches with friends and we can't tell which would be best.

For some reason I've always like stronghold but thank you for outlining how strong the behemis are LOL. Is there any reason my expert tactics would never work because the whole point of getting it is to negate its speed weaknesses.

tactics only help reach more on the 1st turn, they change nothing about speed priority (who gets to move first, attack first, cast first) and also doesn't help against terrain. Tactics is overall mostly a PvE thing for trick campaigns, where you need to abuse certain mechanics to come out on top. In random templates or PvP, tactics doesn't do much unfortunately :)

They have good heroes. That is what made them strong. With troglodytes specialist you can take dragon dwelling in first day of game. Harpies are good power stack in early game. No melee penalty is also good in utopias. Overall they are decent but with their special building they are quite strong.

I like mysticism too. Also it do not helps just tower but also inferno. They can ramp up spell power pretty quickly and use this to get early fights much more easily. Not to mention other synergies like 2nd guilt for pit lord could give you lightning or blind or fire wall. And in general inferno has quick army which kite fairly good. And first three units let say two of them do not retaliate and are splash and this can helps you to keep you army even more safe from dmg if not avoid it completely. Some people think mysticism is garbage but i do not think so. Nice video.

Playing a lil solo self found offline. Woulda loved like anything for someone trying out hardcore for the first time since they were a kid. Alas this was all about speeding through once u already know how to play the game and know how to play hardcore. I just need recommends for gear to look out for, first purchases, things that will make a big impact early when i feel extra vulnerable

I've recently gotten back into HOMM3 due to a massive nostalgia itch and the fact that I know Russians in particular keep the game IP alive. However, I've only just now realized that the way these guides proclaim the game to be played is far different than what I'm used to. While HOMM3 is not what I'd consider the best for a 4X itch, that is however, how I play the game. I enjoy the RPG elements mashed with it's basic 4X elements. Makes the game very relaxing to play. This isn't a knock on the playstyle proposed by the general hardcore community. I just didn't understand all this "new" stuff, like the pandora's boxes and the new additions from HotA. Now that I've seen the way maps are in the current day, I understand the tips given here. I am confused as to why the lv 2 unit, the Marksman, is considered halfway good. I tend to hate them since they're so damned fragile; thus they rely a lot on me having initiative advantages and engaging the enemy instead of defending. I have experimented with using artifact + archery skill builds with them, which does help; but is an awful lot of investment and of course, relies on RNG - however the random maps are loaded with SO MUCH GARBAGE that it's rather easy to build a Combo item like the Bow of the Sharpshooter - so I guess it's worthwhile - but the Zealots seem so much more efficient. I agree with the Gryphons being suboptimal. To me, as one who's interested in possibly doing a unit balance mod for S&Gs, the Gryphon's special (Retaliation) implies that they're meant to help soak damage on the front you wish to spear head. Their health is too low for that. I could deal with their damage being so low if it wasn't so easy to reduce their stack numbers. They get in plenty of extra damage during Retaliations, but need a HP boost - that is all.

Gryphons are good because they are quick and have good stats. Dmg on third unit is actually good. I do not think that unlimited retaliation are for soaking dmg rather then extra layer of defense. Like you hit them and then like: naaah they will do that again. so you avoid and when you are forced to do so then they start to be very problematic. Speed 9 is good for scouting and expert bless make them basically have 7 dmg permanent. On top of that you have really easy job to have them plenty.

@petervlcko4858 speed / retaliation makes them very good at removing archers tho if I'm building plenty of Zealots, archer unit types are easily dispatched anyways. But retaliation being a discouragement like you suggested does work well on back line auxiliaries troops, troops that are often at a disadvantage in melee and are more frail than the gryphons are. My nit pick at their fragility is because while they're quicker, the retaliation requires the gryphons to take a hit first which inevitably means your stack is going to be reduced in number with each proc of the ability. It's a diminishing return type of skill when it's stack vs stack. I'm no where near any pro level but in long games, it is so constant that I'm replacing massive stacks of gryphons all the time vs A.I. I assume maybe it's different vs players?
