i need a spot where i can put a trap for green crabs! would u mind sharing?
@nelsonfelixoutdoors60959 күн бұрын
@@showmethefishing sorry can’t share. If you’re familiar with the western South Shore of Long Island, you will know where this is. If I openly say the spot their will be 30 people there for the next two weeks straight, wiping out everything that comes into the traps. Almost every single dock along the south shore will have them around this time. Especially around marinas.

Not sure why everyone perpetuates the myth that clams are full of sand. Unless the shell is broken while digging them, there is only sand on the outside. If you find sand inside of a clam, it is dead. Swish basket in the salt water where they were harvested and then a quick rinse, brief soak and they are clean and ready to be steamed/boiled. Any remaining sand on the shell will end up on the bottom of the pan after cooking.

Just bought a used 2022 Outback. I was looking through the instruction manual, and it specifically says not to store the kayak on PVC. Any idea why it would say that? Your storage system looks legit to me. Thanks for sharing.
@nelsonfelixoutdoors60953 ай бұрын
@@RickRose this has been a discussion amongst the Hobie kayaking community for years now. I’m not sure why they say that. Many of us have never had issues, and if you do some research, I don’t think that you will find a single person that has had an issue with storage this way. I think it may have come from the original outbacks pre scupper reinforcement that may have had issues. But that was before 2012. Most dealers store their display models on PVC runners. You won’t have any issues at all.
@Machria233 ай бұрын
Awesome, but I have a small mod to your mod to make it even easier and quicker. Instead of all the clips, and clipping to each cart post, then dropping one bungee with clips down a scupper and clipping to other bungee and pulling the bungee up, and repeating for other side, try this: Permanently attach a 1’ piece of bungee with a ring on the other end to each cart post. Then make a Y shaped bungee with 2 clips on the 2 ends. Set kayak on wheels, drop the 2 Y ends down the scuppers and attach each clip to the 2 rings on the bungees attached to the cart posts. Hold the tag end of the Y or attach it to something (chair, D ring…) and lift the kayak. Done. Less clips, less clipping/attaching and detaching, quicker and really easy. 😄 The other benefit is the clips are on the “3rd bungee” (the Y) which allows you to attach it to the car/boat/storage somewhere so as you mentioned at the end, you don’t lose it. The other two 1’ length bungees are permanent on the cart, so you won’t lose them either.

@@LesHoa-DuMal Hey, thanks for the comment. I’ve since eliminated the vinegar in the recipe and doubled the water. So one part dawn to two parts of water and it still kills them. The vinegar was definitely browning the leaves a little more than I liked so then I tried a one-to-one soap and water and it still yellow the leaves, especially tender new ones just a little so now I use the 2 water to 1 soap ratio.
