The transmit power on this thing is complete garbage. Wifi will reach it but not vice versa.

be aware that particular fuse block your using leaks power. if you pull a fuse to work on anything connected to it, verify that circuit is completely dead of power with a volt meter. i have 2 of them and i had to open them up and cut out all the jumpers to the LED lights to make the fuse block was safe and would function as intended. my fancy LED lights wont work anymore but it wont burn the truck down either. great video!

Good morning. Fantastic video! My one question is when you show the big grommet pulled through and then you can see the weather wrap with the zip tie at the end. Did you clip that to in order to be able to feed the wire through, or no? It’s hard to get at, especially with big mits 😂 Thx for your help!

I recently seen a video, where they used a coax cable to move the antenna up on top of the pole and it extended range considerably , just by putting the antenna up higher on the pole

Good Stuff. I just installed this over the weekend and have a question- Do you know if there is a way to see which PIN is being used for access? The "activity log" doesn't say which pin is being used. Seems kind of pointless to have multiple pins if you cant tell which one was used. The pins open the gate.. maybe i programed it incorrectly....

Thanks for sharing. I ordered a ghost control today. You have the voice of an airline pilot! Have a great weekend!

Thank you for sharing, any reason you chose to mount it on the passenger side instead of the driver side?

You realize there are factory made mounts for that EXACT location which bolt on w/o drilling anything, right?

I added the external antenna (sold by Ghost) and it double our range. Mounted it on a 10' 2x4 . Plenty of cable to run the controller.

Pretty awesome. I would have had that pin hole sticking out of the front.. instead of having to reach under, but i see you had a solution even easier.. on the other hand, you can't see the hole to know it's lined up when you insert something..

You just saved me a world of hurt....I was getting ready to go through the passenger side via a small grommet opening behind my side vent. The work space is incredibly tight and finding the wire inside the truck after pushing it through was impossible. I was going to buy a fish wire tomorrow but now....easy peasy..Thank you.

Extend the antenna. Easy fix. If you are getting 300 feet that's good. I have over 50 units in the field. Work excellent.

Great video. After watching yours I watched the Ghost installation video, and it recommends using coaxial cable to extend your antennae. If you haven’t already done this, I wonder if you could reposition it higher using this method to increase your range. Thanks for making an honest review video, this is helpful.

Great point. They actually released an extension antenna kit, which I installed, it did not help much unfortunately.

thank you for this video. i'm in the process of installing mine. Can you give me more details on how you installed your camera? I bought the Reolink rlc-511wa which has the 12v ac adapter with barrel plug. How did you power it? i'm assuming you have it wired directly to your battery. Any tips would be appreciated.

So much better than Chevy. I tried routing a wire in a 22 Silverado -- they give you a little nipple for upfitting but the center rubber is too thick and you can't get a screwdriver in there straight. Popped the grommet and nylon keepers out, took nearly 4 hours to reinstall because of the location and how the nylon pieces interlock to each other.

I’m very interested in this system on my new property but my gate is about 700 ft from my home. I saw in a comment that you hard wired it. Can you explain how you did that?

I dug a trench and ran electricity to the gate. My doorbell needs 24vac so I ran power and a transformer all the way down.

Good job on the video. You mention the lack of range on the opener yet it appears to open in about 10 seconds so that doesn't strike me as a huge deal. Odd choice of background music but otherwise, good vid.
