TBR every other month👍🏼 I completely gave up on 'creating' a TBR... Somehow every time I try to make one, I have no desire whatsoever to read any of the books on it 😂 now I just go with the flow and have a never ending 'want to read' list on Goodreads... And The Words is still on that list!🙈😂

Yes to the words. Literally in my top favorite books of all time. So good! In the top 5 although after the first 2 I can’t really put books in order lol I think of the words ALLLLL the time. It stayed with me.

Like you I have been meaning to read Keri Lake for ages so I have Nocticadia on my TBR for the umpteenth time. Wish me luck. I absolutely loved The Words! It is worth every page and I immediately bought myself a copy once I finished reading it. I think you do you girl, if you like making the TBR videos then do your thing. I love watching them regardless of how many you read from the list. It always brings new books on my radar or helps me remember the ones I have added to my TBR and then promptly forgotten about.

Plus you don’t have a review so your opinion isn’t tainted 1 way or another it just hypes you up. I don’t know we’ll see what I end up doing 🙈

I love watching TBR videos (I don't care if people stick to them or not 😂) But, I will watch all your videos, so if it felt like a good break to you, then do every other month! I definitely don't want you to feel pressured. You could always do a seasonal TBR priority reads video as well. That could be fun. Just keep talking about anything, especially the books you read. 😊🙌 I am totally looking up Bla1re!! Captor/Captive is definitely my romance book love language. Makes my little 🖤 so happy! 🤣💗

For me I like setting a tbr (even if i end up straying away from it 😅) just because I like going back and seeing what books I had on my mind that month. Sometimes it sparks an interest again later on. I’m not that harsh on myself with tbrs Ive also been having The Words on tbr for who know how long at this point 😂 I really need to just open it and start it

I think that’s why there’s a little pull to do monthly TBRs again. It really does help me get excited for books and do some digging. We’ll see probably won’t do Oct anyway since I’m traveling for most of it and won’t really read much. The Words haunts us both! I know I’ll be hooked once I start it but it’s the starting that’s hard 🤣

You must visit the bookstore! It’s right down on Front street, right next to Whistle Punk Icecream. It’s one of the joys in my life to work there. It’s been almost three years, and I am still in awe that this is my life.

Do I ever truly leave spooky season reading 🤔? I generally like monthly tbrs regardless if you read them cuz I like to see what is catching peoples eyes and what I should be on the lookout for. But I understand the burnout/mood reading mentality. I'm doing a scavenger hunt style this month for something different.

I was feeling slumpy at the beginning of the month, but then I gave up trying to find a good, fluffy romance (my usual go-to) and went back to mafia/mc and sci-fi/paranormal romance and what do you know, that ended. :/ I thought Guardian and Hold were pretty good so I'm going to read Hunter, too, so thanks for that rec. Not sure I'll read Release. I'm going to read The Mistress Experience, too. I'm been a bit gunshy to go back historical romance after Shipwreck Sadie. I just got back from the 9 days at the beach so I read so much romance. Nothing really stood out, unfortunately. I'm now looking for something low-key to read while I process my thoughts on Ready Player Two. Enough about me. Great vid! I like book wrap ups the most. <3

Praying for rain is one of my faves 😂 but you have to read the entire trilogy in one go to get the full experience..idk why she split it up bc it could’ve just been one book. I also love Claire Kent’s post apocalyptic series 🤌🏼🤌🏼🤌🏼

Oh, thank god!!!! I was so worried that I was the only one who didn't like A Ship of Bones and Teeth. I thought the action was great, but the romance sucked. 🤷♀️

I commented before I listened to your whole review. I completely agree that the H was generic and nothing special. And you're right. It was a lot of action, but it didn't go anywhere. I hadn't picked up on that. And, YES! I was not sad at all when there was that character we were supposed to be sad over. Missed opportunity. I am curious about the sequel about the h's sister.

I also read a Sam Mariano this month. I read Untouchable and I still think about it really often even though it wasn't a five stars. Very slow but so deep and the characters’ analysis and psychology were soooo good

I've never been a historical girlie even in tv/movie format. Idk what it is about the genre but usually I just find myself bored. Except the 2005 Pride & Prejudice. That slaps aways 😂

I think I gave up on historical romance unless it's fantasy romance. The misogyny, hymen obsession, & classism is DNF territory for me now. But I did enjoy Johanna Lindsey back in the day.

I haven't picked one up since 2023 when I read the 1st 4 Maiden Lane books. I used to read a lot more of them in my early romance reading days. I wonder if that's a romance reader right of passage? 🤷♀️ I read a lot of Shannon Drake. Some of them are still all-time-favorites.

I think you might be on to something! 🤔 I mean historical romances are some of the more accessible romances because they used to be everywhere, there’s so many different ones, and they were cheap too. Things have changed a bit now with the rise of contemporary romance. Hmmmm! I do think I want to continue on with the Maiden Lane series - did you have a favorite?

Might have mentioned it before but the movie novelization of Crimson Peak is excellent. Gothic romance set in a historical period. Fun read with extras on the characters.

I'm currently reading the ARC of Heart of Frost and Scars by Pam Godwin. I'm about 50% through and so far and it's AMAZING!!! It's definitely going to be 5 stars. This year some of my 5 star reads were from The Legacy of Gods series, some Dramione fanfic, and of course (as you know) Take Me With You. 💗

It's definitely going to be epic. I love that there's a mystery aspect to it. It felt like the 2nd book was missing that a little bit (since the 1st one had an amazing mystery as well). The most recent Dramione fanfics I've read are Contradictions by ambpersand and All You Want by SenLinYu. I loved them and gave them both 5 stars. I know!? What can top Take Me With You? I'm guessing nothing! 😂😂

The Losers duet. I think about these books all the time. This is the why-choose story I compare all the other why-choose books with. Rina Kent’s Legacy of Gods is the only series I’ve given so many five stars to so it kind of lives rent-free in my head 😅

I'm super intrigued by born for silk. You will need to warn me on the darkness level tho. I was super excited for the Wraith King, but I read the novella in the same world released in an anthology) and I was a little disappointed...so now I'm worried that it's not going to land.

@@TheBookBaron for the novella, the biggest thing was it was supposed to be 1.5 in the series but then with the release dates changing it released first. Alot of the world building was incomplete... But based on what you said of the synopsis that might just be something JC struggles with in higher fantasy
