Great shot of the Salvation Army building at 0:25. My parents used to run that centre back in 1968. I remember being inside it, but it was far too long ago for me to remember much about Worksop other than that, our house and my school playground. I was 8 😂

I lived in the Foresters when I was small, my sister was born there. My parents used to have Country and Western nights with Mel Haigh and the Westernaires.

I was landlord there about 20 ISH years ago. It's a fantastic building but I was ripped off big time but the pub company that owned in ( punch taverns) when i while I was in the offered to sell it to me. I asked how much and they said 3•75 million. Yes million. Then when I left they sold it for the price of an ex council house.

These aren't about speed, as there are so many stops for lights it will drag the average speed. This is all about being busy bodies and probably a road charging scheme.

The A57 also has its own speed reduction scheme between Brown Baileys pond and the Shireoaks roundabout. The cameras, at least , only result in a ticket; not hundreds of pounds' worth of damage to wheels and suspension parts.

The other warehouse in Magor South Wales will also have gone, people say younger wilkos family members where only interested in thier back pockets, took thier eye of the ball.

If These are the new style camera they can pick you up using your phone aswell while driving they can also tell if your breaking before you get to them if you were speeding 😂😂 but they don't apparely use Ai tech 😂😂

dead easy to make them a waste of money.....stick to 30, the road is short and speeding may save you a few seconds but could cost a lot if you speed, so ??? for what???

So sad to see one of Worksop's best landmarks in such a state., another building properly up for demolition. When I look back, it was a great venue for concerts and cinema. Even the lead singer of Doctor Hook played there. I recall the cinema. My TV was almost bigger than the screen. The manager wore slippers. There was a blonde, girl, who made Katie Price, look like Twiggy. Before the film. They showed a crackly image like an old silent movie, stating,'' Please refrain from smoking in this auditorium. Then the traditional Pearl and Dean'', theme tune. Then they built a new cinema in town. I prefer the Reagle any day. I didn't want it to close. So many happy memories.

Soon we will all be sitting at home on our fat bottoms ordering stuff on the Internet" hang on a minute aren't we already doing that 😅

It went tits up because of the Rent,Rates,Electricity and fuel expenses there will be more to follow.Food,Power suppliers and fuel can just push their prices up it’s that simple.Pubs are the next ones to bite the dust.

I for one will miss Wilco, I bought a 2 bed flat last year and got all my nickel platted sockets and switches from there (same make as B&Q but cheaper), my light shades, lamps, bathroom fitments, paint (their paint was better than dulux) and lots more ,their pic-n-mix screws and nails where a bargain ... I went in the Poundland that has taken over the local store , what a load of tat.

I once met Peter and Karin Swann at a fancy dinner (a very rare event for me) Karin was on the board of Wilko at that time, but later sold her stake in the company. I think she did pretty well out of that.

I recall not long ago shopping at Wilko's and the customer in front of me at the self service checkout calmly walked out after scanning a basket full of goods and pretending to scan their payment card. I knew then the store was doomed

Wasn’t that the car that honked an fiat to move and then ploughed straight into the sinkhole

Sad to see buildings decline like this but I guess a developer is behind it waiting for an opportune fire maybe? Or Bassetlaw Planning to agree to the building of 150 new 'affordable' homes on the site.
