The difference between us is that I live in the real world. In the real world there are no sacred arts, incarnation, Sword skills... They are all humans, rather, every individual in the underworld have human souls. Human babies would have their souls “Cloned”, but because they only cloned the soul and not the babies body, they placed their soul inside of a simulation of sorts so they could log in and raise the babies into adults. They aren’t NPC’s or AI’s that can be programmed. Just think of them as humans living in a simulation. Regardless, what Quinella did was take advantage of the system. It would be the equivalent of someone in our reality finding out we live in a simulation, and then taking advantage of some of the loopholes in order to rise to power.

Uhhh this is late but just to answer your question, everyone in the underworld are basically artificially created humans, i mean they are in a sense AI but the the sole purpose of their creation was to imitate the creation of a real human being

Kirito notices that all the way back in Rulid, when Eugeo beats Zink in a duel. Eugeo won by using the Sword Skill *Slant* which Kirito had not shown him yet. Kirito very much believes that Eugeo could surpass him as a Swordsman even that far back, and also acknowledges that Eugeo is soaking up all of his techniques and tactics (which he accumulated over 4 years of VR experience) like a sponge. It's unfortunate that his career got cut short...
