This is supposed to be one of the first tools you need when you set up a shop, but you need a router table and a drill press to make it. Chicken and egg?

Great ,clever design! But I woud have made the base wider, broader , thicker (your small area base means it's top- heavy with a power drill at the top) You hav used some costly professional tools to make it (-never seen a power chamfer edger b4) -beyond th resources of some D I Y -ers!

How to determine the correct angle please ?
@hope4ourfallen
@hope4ourfallen 9 күн бұрын
You can lay blade down flat on stone (like how it would rest if you just set it on a counter) Then slowly tilt non cutting edge upward until you see no gap between stone and cutting surface. (This can be hard to see sometimes for some of us though) But if you take a permanent marker and put some marker along the blade (on the sides of the cutting edge, where you intend to grind off) it will get erased by the stone and make it easier to see if you need to adjust the angle. Ink remaining close to the cutting edge, but scratched off closer to spine (raise the angle) Ink remaining on spine side of section you are trying to sharper but cutting edge is scratched away, (lower angle) Ink removed in a nice even appearance only on the sharpening surface(like we see when you look at a parkerized pocket knife) then you have a good angle. Hope that helped and didn't make it more confusing 🙂

Çok iyi! 👏 Ancak bıçak çıkışı biraz geniş gibi. Belirli bir sebebi var mı? Zira o geniş ağızdan içeri epey bir malzeme girer ve kesmek zor olur gibi. Saygılar.

Fantastic classroom, I would call it as a show because that is full hard work to present such nice video. In youtube the idea behind is to incentivate people to learn how things works, how they can be made and above all, how they can be innovated. Nobody would be able to improve or add inputs if the hard initial part, the base of the project wasn't created, from scratch. Congratulatios.
