The planet ocean is the best size case as it measures 40.5mm and the bezel is 39.5mm. It’s the r exact same case size as a sub. Just 2mm thicker due to its 600m depth rating and a better lug height.

I looked at the Memovox, but it's 40mm, in my opinion a bit too large to look elegant. So I got one from 1995, 38.5mm I think, and it's immaculate. And it was only £2800, a no brainer as the new version is £13.100 now...

Which size and which dial color, for me, depends first on readability of the sliderule scale (with my 70 year old eyes). And dial colors might influence readabilty of the INNER slide- rules scale whose font size doesn't look to change between 41, 43 and 46 mm case sizes (as does the font size on the outer sliderule scale). I'm planning to visit a Breitling Boutique to compare the sizes and colors. The mint green and sky blue dial colors initially attracted me to the Navitimer, but as I already own 2 Omega Chronographs (a Speedmaster and a dressy original AquaTerra), adding a sliderule function is my ONLY reason for buying a Navitimer. When I started engineering school, scientific calculators were too expensive, so I got comfortable with sliderules throughout my first year.

11:40. Valjoux 7750 is base for all these 42mm automatic chronographs (at this price point). Significantly enhanced though. One is getting something comparable to a current IWC Pilot Chrono for half the price here

Great rundown. I especially enjoyed you going through the chronograph components viewed through the caseback, and how they work and interact with each other. I bought the sapphire version a week ago and have hardly stopped wearing it. Beautiful piece. And indeed, the Daytona's pricing is totally ridiculous in the context of this watch.

presenter forgets to show how thick it sits on his wrist. love the brand and watch but who there thinks that it is ok to make watches so thick when jlc is all about movements.

Don't agree. 3000 to 4000 Euro is no door opener. Most people have to save money for a year or more to buy this. These watches are nice and very well made, but still very expensive for an average guy. This is a point of view of rich guys.

It needs a ceramic bezel and a cyclops date eye like the rolex submariner, then it will be perfect.

Hi ich kaufe mir eine von diesen Uhren, nur ich überlege seid geraumer Zeit welche die mit dem teakdeck oder diese aus dem Video hier und da kann ich mich zwischen blau und grün nicht unterscheiden leider gab es in meinem Omega Store keine der beiden nur die in dunkelblau mit teak diese war aber sehr Nice dafür und ja da sie live besser sind und sie ja alle kennen würde mich interessieren welche ihnen am besten gefällt

Love the new BP43. IMHO (aside from the size element) the new watch brings the BP back to its roots, with a a clean/not busy dial. I know some don’t like the fact there’s no date window and power reserve indicator but IMHO the pure clean dial is a much better and classy look, also more tool watch appropriate. I like the quick release strap system. And the new luminous dial is absolutely gorgeous with every numeral being luminated it makes for a much more legible night read and a better bedside clock. As John Mayer perfectly said you can put it on your bedside table when you go to bed and it serve as a great nightstand clock. Now better than ever. Now if they decide to release a version with matte (heritage style) metal that will be even closer to an original flieger and more of a tool rather than a luxury watch. One can only hope.

I don't know why Omega have designed such a bad looking on-the-fly extension on their watches. I have a Citizen Atessa titanium, a fraction of the price and has a two position extension which looks seamless whether extended or in the normal position. You can also adjust while wearing using the same quick release buttons on the clasp, so no fiddling around. It's a really simple design and I cannot fathom how Omega at some 5 times the cost can't include something similar.

No! Too large, too thick, blue is just fashion that will date, Roman numerals on a sports watch are inappropriate, and it's bloody expensive. Just SO silly. The market for that watch will be minuscule, and it will plummet in value. And those comments are from a Breguet devotee. The bloody Daytona is perfect: right size, right thickness, right value retention. It's not high horology and it's not as prestigious as Breguet, but it's the best design proposition (apart from the fiddly screw-down pushers.). At list it's much better value, too. Irritating.

Offering the submersibles in both 44mm & 42mm is a move in the right direction. I would suggest that panerai turn their attention to improving the bezel action in the next release on the existing submersible models instead of adding new dials, which can wait a year or two. Love panerai always. Thanks for your informative videos. Onwards and upwards!
