Will - don't know if you see this 4 years after posting, but a question for you. I've owned 5 CCs over 25 years, and think the Boerbel is really impressive. However, two trainers (1 is also a CC breeder) are both of the opinion that the Boerbel tends to be much more reactive to people and prone to dog aggression. I'm also 60 years old. No problem handling my soft-tempered CC, but I wonder about at 160-200 lb dog that will be with me until my early 70s. Any further thoughts you'd care to share here, I'd be grateful.

Our Cane Corso and Akita Inu spends 24/7 with my daughtet and our livestock while I'm at work. During the early spring they watche over our peacocks and their young as we have owls, eagles and hawks plus bears and panthers. Theydon't let anything near them and my daughter. We take them shopping with us every weekend and they love playing in the park with all of the kids as they adore children.but is forever wathing - on guard for any potential threat. They have protected the peacocks multiple times from bears that have came to close. I've trained Bouviers, Dobes, German Shephers, Rottweilers and others but I have to say that our Cane Corso has been the easiest to train. She took to pulling a cart faster then our Bouvier!. What evet task I've trained her to do She does it witha lot of joy! She is a happy but for ever watching family member!!

My 11 month old cane Corso anxiety is so high he chewed on the counter top of the kitchen. I purchased a gate That prevents him from going into the living room When we come home from an event From having some family time, he pees himself from the Excitement he gets from seeing us. I asked the vet for some help on his anxiety. However, they want me to get him fixed before prescribing him anything. When I put him in the car and we get to a destination, he whines so much, and if I leave him in the car for a moment, he freaks out and starts jumping around in the car

Loved your show. We own a Cane Corso she is the most loving and dedicated dog we have ever had, but she has arthritis in her hips and we were wondering if the is a trait she was born with or is it from being abused. She is a rescue from a mean man that would beat her. You could she all her bones. Now she weighs almost 100 lbs and she is fantastic out baby. We take her to the vet every few months to get a shot for her arthritis, and I massage her hips for her. Please let us know i wish I could send a pic of her to you she's so beautiful

I have a cane corso is trained and good with people. We started taking him to parks as a puppy when we first got him and everything was ok, but at about 3 months, it started to become a problem out of the blue. We stopped taking him to parks as there seemed to be an issue with every dog. This was puzzling to me because we seemed to be doing everything right. I called the breeder and asked him about this issue, and he advised that the bloodline my corso has is like that. He told me he has to separate the dogs from the same litter at about 4 months old. He keeps all the puppies together until around that age. Also, I owned a bullmastiff for 13 years who was trained and socialized and could be around any dog as long as they didn't pick a fight. Here's my point, some of these corsos may or may not be open to being socialized. But if you want a dog that would be good with other dogs and play with others at the dog park I WOULD STRONGLY RECOMMEND NOT TO GET ONE! They are highly protective of the family and they look for threats and potential threats 24/7 outside of the house. These dogs are like no other and definitely not for first time owners. If your corso is sociable then's that great but don't get one expecting this.

Owned and worked the corso for about a decade now. I moved to this breed myself at the age of 20. It’s not impossible you just cannot be careless . Like anything else enough time work and dedication and your can successfully teach any dog anything

Please help me Will! We adopted our Cane Corso Thanos when he was 16 was, he's now 10 months old. I know now we got him outside of the optimal bonding time and have had a lot of battles with training. He has a fear of noise. We have 4 small kids, their noise doesn't bother him, but a garbage truck or anything like that and he's is out of there. Recently he has become afraid to go outside. We have to coax him out of his room with treats every morning and even still he will pee all over the floor from his room to the door, then all over himself when outside. It started a few weeks ago, some days are better than others, but the amount of time we are spending coaxing him outside and cleaning his mess is getting out of control. What can we do to help alleviate his fears? We are not sure what exactly spooked him to begin with. Thanks for your help!!

Don’t get a dog if you can’t take it everywhere with you. Put in 100% and you get it back. Lack of leadership/ friendship . Crate a dog for 4 hours . That’s some training.

I came to watch your video today, because while I was at the dog park today, my 22 month old Cane Corso was attacked by another dog. My pup is still intact, and I ended up getting bit on my chest and hand by the other dog (female australian shepherd). I knew that getting in the middle would likely end up in me getting bit, but I was at a dog park with about 30 other people and at least 20 dogs. Hade (my cane corso) has had 3 incidents at the same park where another dog attacks him for getting too close and he has retaliated in a way that I find embarrassing. He isn’t evert going to lose the fights, so when other dog owners see this without seeing the start of it, they just see this big evil dog abusing manhandling the other dog. When it started, I was talking with 2 other dog owners who were complementing his looks and one had mentioned that he had a friend who could only walk his at night because it was so bad with other dogs. He said it was the breed, and I shook my head saying that it only happens when dog's aren't socialized. Whether it with people or other animals. The 3 of us all saw the other dog bite and latch on to Hade's face, drawing a bit of blood, but Hade's retaliation was locking on pretty firmly and the dog whining a lot. I felt so terrible but I don't want to punish him for defending himself. I wanted to understand better in case I was wrong, but thank you for this video. It has confirmed and further explained most of the things I'd had a strong belief of or in. Hade had 0 training before me, and I've only had him 4 months. I am worried to even take him to dog parks anymore because other dogs do not like him. He is currently 130lbs at 22 months. He has some gashes on his face, around his mouth and eyeball now, and I don't want this to be his only experiences with other dogs. I am afraid it will make him aggressive to other dogs. He is just a big puppy that wants to play. Sadly, his ears were cropped by the people before me, and I hate it. It looks cool, but I think it is such a bad practice for the reasons you explained here, on top of the health problems it can cause later down the line. Thanks for this video.

I think my biggest concern is the issue of separation anxiety. I have owned a male Rottweiler and he turned out to be an even tempered and great companion. That was friendly with strangers and other dogs. I guess I want to know can people who work part or full time own this breed if they put in the training and exercise time?
@AstroTomX2 ай бұрын
As a Cane Corso owner my advice is :give them your time,be strict but same time be loving.Never be angry with them and don’t loose your temper.They are best breed of dogs if you spend time with them and they will never let you down.One thing i can tell for sure ,they are big puppies for first 3 years.Be patient dont scream just be patient.They are very intelligent and they feel all your mood spikes.Author mentioned that if you got no experience with dogs you dont get this dog.It was my first dog but you need to study the breed for sure.Just make sure you dont loose the game.My Cane will never attack other dog but it will defend him self if any other dog will show aggression.M towards him or us.Best advice would be ,be patient and calm
