For 4.0 you can skip adding the audio to the video sequencer, just select the shape key in the graph editor, click "Channel" and then use "Sound to Sample"

I have a question, for example how can I bake more than 1 track to an F-curve? As soon as I add the second track, the lips for the second track fit - but the first one has no function! I would be very grateful if someone could answer this for me or know which video on KZbin covers the topic.

What I do is I work out the audio timing first in the video sequencer in blender, time it out. Then I render the audio only, and use that to bake to the f curve. So not just one line at a time, but all lines as one audio file.
