Lol, you should research the Coleman oil burners from the 30's... Much the same, they had another "ring" in the lower 1/3 to choke down the combustion and get towards a blue flame, its doing sort of the same thing as your flat bars, allows for secondary combustion. Many farms in south AB had em back in the day.

Just a note on your exhaust fan. When an exhaust fan system of any kind is used, it requires make up air from outside or it will create a negative pressure in the area it is used in and will then draw from anywhere it can and will back draft and or draw from any other openings/vents/cracks/exhausts in the room/building.

I been trying the same thing with my okd heater . I was thinking of using a blinker relay for the fuel pump . But i like the light bulb trick

I'm in the process of converting my Weiss VM32 mill (same as a CX601/PM30) to CNC and I removed the gas strut all together to gain more Z travel. But that gas strut was a major pain in the a$$ to deal with.

Do you think that exhaust was way too smoky because of lack of air ? Perhaps if you manage to run extra air into chamber / intake , then heater may burn cleaner ? I think that air intake diameter may be the "bottleneck".

I was a bit surprised when you showed your Vevor purchase I had looked on Vevor and found very little. I did purchase a huge kitchen sink delivered extremely quickly which is excellent quality and excellent value, but I did not see Heaters. So I looked again, no heaters, I had the brainwave to use your link to Vevor sure enough Heaters but not for the UK what have we done wrong?

WHAT ABOUT THE VERY LOUD TICKING NOISE OF FUEL PUMP!! I bought this heater and installed it yesterday. Any potential buyers need to be aware the fuel pump makes a very loud noise. In all these video's the sound is way less / can't hear anything at all. Some video's even tell you the sound is barely there but I can promise you it definitely is. I have it inside my van and it's definitely to loud to try to sleep, to not be cold it works great but there's a price to pay!! I instantly looked for an upgraded fuel pump that should be less loud, sound insolation for inside the box and will also encase the fuel pump in some sound deafening material to lessen the noise. There many video's online that discuss this topic and give tips how to deal with the noise, now I just hope now they will work to make the sound bearable

Maybe consider giving that one away, VEVOR and Amazon completely sold out of this model. Forget Christmas gift now. Estimated restocking is about 11-14 weeks away they tell me. 😢

Wish i found this video a few days ago. I just ordered a heater yesterday. Just not this one. I live 100% offgrid, so, being able to plug into 120v (with the adapter) would be so much better than an extra battery. Would like to have the upgrades, but, guess ill have to wait until this one dies someday. Ha ha.

We have cut 1" X 4" solid 316 SS with this blade. We took it apart and mounted it as a table saw to rip mild steel. One job pays for the tool. One hundred and fifty 2' X 2' X 3/8" mild steel base plates. No warp, cool with fine water mist. I have almost asked Vevor for that chop saw a few times. They have their place in the shop, for sure, and for certain jobs are way better than a band saw or plasma cutter.

They have two different models. Neither of them are in stock in Canada, so I can't test them. I'm not sure that I would have time or a suitable project, but it is on my radar of things to try.

Haha. It could work in that way. I think the hotsy pressure washers use something like this. Using it to heat Andy's ice fishing tent this evening. Got my new heat exchanger today. The water heater is outside, in the shelter, and the exchanger is in the tent.

You will fix or replace that torch. Hopefully VEVOR can send you one for free. Nice jig and a great idea. Stay warm and safe. We all look forward to your next video :).
@loweredexpectations49276 күн бұрын
I actually have another have a trigger block from another torch, that fits. I may choose to replace it at some point. Currently staying warm in an ice fishing tent, using my waste oil water heater hooked to a heat exchanger. It is about -15C and it's able to maintain 18 to 20C fairly easily. Pretty satisfying.

Ingenious design of the jig Joel! Most impressive tool in this video is the universal shoe vice in use to build the jig. I don't think any of the Chinese built plasma cutters are going to meet the "Robust" definition, but they are priced to allow a hobbyist to get their hands on one at a very inexpensive price and if they are seldom used on a non-commercial setting, they hold up just fine. Great to see you posting again Dude!
@loweredexpectations49276 күн бұрын
Thanks for the thoughtful comment. Haha... the universal shoe vidce... I should post a photo / video of my poor shoes. I sharpen about 8-10 lawnmower blades per day, suring my busy season... and my shoes are mower blade vices. My socks also have holes in them. I agree. I had a Victor Thermal Dynamics cutter a few years back, and the quality was better for sure.... but I could buy about 7 of these for the price of one of those... and the consumables cost $40 a set, so I was afraid to use it and wear them out. If you buy these consumables in bulk, you can replace a set for about $2 ... Even I don't mind $2, haha.
