What is a QMP lure? Is that a queen bee in a little cage to lure the drone bees in?

Many youtube beekeepers suggest using drawn comb. New beeks don't have that option.

Very in-depth. Good job. I Will say though it is best to just leave one cell after colonies have swarmed. Usually a mid sized one where you observe bees sitting on it. This insures no after swarm’s.

And checker boarding empty honey frames has to be done between capped honey frames. Or they will draw out the old frames quite thick.

November to January the bees are clustered up tight.Oxalic vapour has a difficult time penetrating the cluster and bees will not break cluster.

You might consider not cleaning off the bottom board. That never happens in a tree hive and the healthy hive was in balance with that part of its eco system. Your gut needs bacteria and other seemingly nasty stuff and the hive needs the nasty stuff on the bottom board.

Wow. AFB is still out there. I haven't heard about regular old bee diseases in decades. When I was beekeeping in the olden days (as my kids the 70s), AFB was the real bugaboo.

Question: Why not put the queen in the new location, and allow the old established location raise their own queen? The new location is going to lose all of its foragers, so the laying queen will help offset that disadvantage. And hive in the original location while losing the queen and having to rear their own will have the advantage of keeping all the foragers?
