@scottcoleman162 Жыл бұрын
It's pretty easy. There's a wiring harness plug in the steering column area that goes into the steering wheel. I used a multi meter to find which 2 wires went to that button. (I used the continuity tone setting) I then tied one of those wires to chassis ground and the other to the 2 step. So when the button is pushed it sends a ground to activate the 2 step.

Are you using 1 resistor with the fuel sender or 2 resistors? I'm having trouble calculating the resistors I need for my 5V digital fuel gauge to work with my analog fuel sender, 3ohm (full) to 110ohm (empy). 4.6V is full on the gauge 3.27V for half a tank and just .3V to show empty.
@scottcoleman1622 жыл бұрын
In actuality it's two resistors. One is fixed value and the other is the sending unit itself, which is a variable resistor. A good rule of thumb is to use a fixed resistor value that is half the value of whatever your sending units max resistance is (or as close as possible) so in your case you'd want your fixed resistor to be around 55 ohm. This circuitry is commonly called a "voltage dividing circuit" if you visit tinker cad circuits you can build the circuit using their circuit design software (free) and try out different values of fixed resistor to get the voltage range you desire.

So are you connecting the fuel sender wire to the 5 volt power supply?
@scottcoleman1622 жыл бұрын
The short answer is yes. The 5 volt coming from the ps goes through a fixed resistor and then splits into 2 wires. 1 wire is an output for the pcm (0-5 signal) the other goes into the sending unit. The sending unit itself is a variable resistor. As its resistance changes, it changes the voltage output from the ps.
@kevinb212 жыл бұрын
@@scottcoleman162 Is it dangerous to have 5 volts running through that sending unit wire since it goes into the fuel tank? I'm thinking about wiring up a low fuel warning light using the technique you describe. A little worried about that warning light popping on and creating an explosion. :)

Good video, when you get to 0psi/vac is when you the timing went from in the 30s all the way below 10. Have you tried keeping the timing in for just a little bit longer? For say, till about 2-5psi and then yank all of the timing out. All of that timing is what helps it build boost so quick, then yanking it out helps it hold boost but also makes it lazy in case you need to roll into the beams from the prestage to the stage setting when drag racing. Also another question, how is drive ability when the timing table like that?
@scottcoleman1623 жыл бұрын
This particular setup was in a truck that had a drum brake rear end on street drag radials. While on the foot brake building boost it'd either take over the rear brake and spin the tires or push through the front brake, so a little more power was taken out to help keep that from happening. If you have a tranny brake you can probably rip it up really nice. I've since moved on to MS3 Pro for my vehicles, which uses Tuner Studio.

Question. Your using your egr sensor as your reference for the wide band, or you’re using an afr kit in the place of egr sensor? I’m pretty sure it’s the first option, I’m just making sure you didn’t need an afr gauge installed to make these revisions.
@scottcoleman1623 жыл бұрын
I'm using an AEM wideband gauge that has a 0-5 volt output reference. That reference is then input into the EGR pin of the pcm, then in the scanner I can log the EGR voltage (EGR voltage is also 0-5 volt) no EGR sensor is used, just the wiring input that goes into the computer. Then you basically change the math so that the scanner displays a numerical value based off the voltage it sees on the EGR pin.

@scottcoleman1623 жыл бұрын
What convertor are you running? It maybe too tight for the RPM setting on your 2 step with that much timing pulled. Keep in mind when you retard the timing it pulls power out and power is a huge determination on when a convertor will stall/flash.... So there's a balance there, if you don't have enough power, the engine may not be able to get up on the converter. You don't have to shoot for a certain number, you have to find the number that works... if it's working at -5 that's where I'd start.
