Hello my friend, while looking through some of your older posts, I realize that you own one of the finest and rarest series 62 (Autoart) unicorn extremely limited true 1000 pieces worldwide . I’m really impressed. I recently acquired the next best thing (Stamp resin ) also very limited and sold out as soon as it became available. The autoart version pops up occasionally for $800 to $1000 used. You are truly fortunate to have that car in your collection.

hello my friend yes I bought them a long time ago at a very reasonable price and I was lucky because they are becoming rare in stores and on eBay but as you know I am a real fan so I want one vehicle I never give up! for the Stramp I love them too but the price is hurting the wallet at the moment I would really like the Cady from 1974 my way too expensive!

@ I was lucky with the Stamp version (ordered before release) I was able to buy it like you did your Autoart and paid $199, they sold out very quickly and are now in the $400 to $500 range almost overnight. The Maisto version is tacky to me , the front seat position is all wrong and the tail fin has a very unsightly hook to it instead of the sharp point (I have one of those as well) but it’s boxed up as it didn’t make the cut. While changing iPads I added you to my premium account and spotted your 59 (lucky dog), this is what I meant about limited numbers staying that way and not being reproduced by other companies buying up licensing and tooling ( what I call repops) kinda nice to know that you have models that are 3 to 5 times what you paid for it, and if anybody have one I know it would be you. Still hoping to catch an estate sale for maybe $200 in the meantime my stamp will do, but fully opening die cast is always best. There’s a brown one available on eBay $795 (I’ll wait) gives me something to look forward to, I won’t hold my breath, as my Stamp doubled in price overnight. Be well my friend and serious collector.

@@ronmccants8678 Thank you very much my friend! @ maybe one day I’ll get savvy enough to do as you and share my collection and if that happens you’ll be the first to know. We share the appreciation of vintage quality die cast models ( of which there’s only so many). I’ve noticed a trend and push for the 1/43 scale ( too much like Hot Wheels) and to me that size isn’t capable of representing that detail we’ve come to appreciate. There’s a supplier and a well known KZbin channel that seems to be headed in that direction, when I mentioned this fact to them both I got lame excuses about things like storage space, when you’d have to be blind to see that they not only lack detail and non opening resins, to me will only increase the value of our hard sought collections. To me it’s the memories ( something lost on younger generations) especially at 1/43 scale, it’s just a sign of the times. Only means that estate sales will also increase in value, so we’d better start cataloging..,

Indeed with its 396 it must have made the ground shake but I think that the people at Ford should not have been afraid especially with the Torino GT of 1969 or with the Fairlane GT of 1967
@ronmccants1513
@ronmccants1513 Ай бұрын
@ Actually a little known fact is that the Comet Cyclone GT was the real beast ( in fewer production numbers) the Torino GT was a bit heavier as it came with everything but the kitchen sink, where the Comet was a big motor 4 speed manual fitted with true 5 spoke magnesium wheels. The mustangs started getting big motors stuffed in, but for some reason the “sudden snap over steer “ has always been a problem, even to this day, I could never really figure out why. The front suspension/ unibody was all I could land on. The Mustangs going hard in a straight line only to for no reason go sideways and take out real estate and bystanders. With almost identical wheel bases as Camaro’s and Challengers. The Challengers were no match for the SS 396 Chevy’s ( all of them)🤣 don’t get me wrong, Ford had formidable big motors but only with special order and premium price. You hear Ford guys say “ yeah but the 427 Ford ( like a unicorn) they exist but few and far between.

There you go, jerking on those memories. I know I’ll be telling on my age, but I can remember when the motorized wench was the latest and greatest state of the art rig. The first tow trucks ( that’s what they were called) had hand cranks with big ratcheting gears ⚙️. The cars front bumper would actually rest on that big skid plate and the chains would connect to a solid piece of frame. Newer car designs made such trucks obsolete as they would easily damage cars with plastic bumper covers and unibody cars with subframes. Also more cars had automatic transmissions and the driveshaft would have to be disconnected to prevent damage, towing from the rear was an option, but quite unstable. Inter rollbacks and wheel lift. 😂You’re making me feel like I worked on stagecoaches and buckboard’s😂 really nice piece as usual, as always thanks for sharing, your collection is full of conversation starters.

It had to be a Chevy, had to be a short bed, either fleetside or step side. Lowered with nice wheels, paint job and a wicked motor, ( El Camino’s also counted). Haven’t had much luck finding them in 1/18 die cast ( and I’ve owned them all, in fact I still own my last pickup ( affectionately known as “Baby “) Gonna really live through you and the trucks ( I’ve got no more room) to start down that rabbit whole 🤣. This was a great car, with almost none existent after market support ( also AMC’s pockets weren’t deep enough to compete with the big three) but pound for pound in stock configuration these cars could hold their own. Not to let my bias show there was very little out there that could handle the wrath of a well built and tuned small block Chevy. This AMC AMX was the super version of the Javelin and on rare occasions one would show up that could actually hold its own. Once again your collection is amazing, leaving very few stones unturned. Then I find myself jealous again with another one of your amazing cars. Ertl did a really nice job with scale and accessories. Fun fact the big block was a great engine, however the big motors never wound up as quickly as the small blocks and 1320 feet ( quarter mile) just wasn’t enough room to catch and overtake.

Hello my Friend It’s that ERTL made magnificent Muscle Cars at the time, it’s a shame that ERTL went bankrupt and then its Die Cast molds we came to Autoworld! I loved the story of your friend with his Chevelle and congratulations on your Chevrolet 55, 56 I didn't know that a 327 could beat a 396 SS, thanks to you I learned a lot of things I love it!

@@wiltorino1 The small blocks simply wound up and lot quicker and by the time the rev’s were up enough it was usually too late. Simply put its all about revolution’s , true the bigger motors had the torque but the RPM’s in the smaller engines was still easier to achieve. The mass of the bigger motors just took a tad longer to reach the RPM’s , the same rpm’s that spin the drive shaft and ultimately the differential ( rear end ) much like when we raced our bicycles, the smaller 20 inch bikes were quicker off the line but the kid with the 26 inch bike would gradually catch an overtake the smaller bike, and the reason I mentioned 1320 feet in a quarter mile ( not much distance when the broken down in feet) if that makes any sense. There are 2 liter 4 cylinder engines that make 600 to a 1000 hp now, in other words size doesn’t matter 😬😆🤣

That’s a beauty, I own the blue open top version and love it. I have to disagree with the other comment about this being the last of the true luxury Caddy’s, actually the 1970 was the last. KK models are a great value in closed resin models.

@@wiltorino1 The 70 was also the last of the factory built convertibles, these late 60’s and 70 models were deemed “ De Ville’s” distinguishing them from Coupe’s and Sedan’s. I actually owned a 70 de Ville witch prompted me to want one for my collection. I was new to the hobby and thought the price was unreasonably high and only available by “Cult models “. Less than a year ago they became more rare and very expensive, all being acquired by a seller from Japan. I haven’t seen any available for a year, the last cars I saw available ( from Japan) were priced from $750 and up. I say that to say that I feel fortunate to have the one I have, although not numbered I believe it was produced in very limited numbers. The quality of the Cult model is almost identical to that of the KK model. I also have quality resin Caddy’s ( in 1/18) by BOS and Stamp, these cars too are made in very limited numbers and pricey.
