First, you are so photogenic, Grace! 🥰 Second, thanks for the “behind the scenes” look into your page-planning process. I do something similar w/a 6 x 6” paper file that I have filled w/ideas based on # of pics, use of punches/die cuts, specific themes, borders, backgrounds, etc. I should show you sometime.

I am so in love with this style too just because of the smaller footprint and way of keeping it simple... focusing on the memory but you can still put some creative kick into it.

I have really enjoyed watching this series, even though I'm three years late :) I think rub-ons actually just get old and lose their stick.🤷‍♀ I've been a 12X12 scrapper, but I want to transition to 8.5X11 because of how heavy and big the 12X12 are. It's hard for me to get them down now that I'm a bit older. And I don't think my only child (a son) wants to inherit a bunch of huge albums either.

I like your way of documenting. :-) I make my yearly journal with a composition book. The way I remedy the picture problem, because I've had the same thoughts, is I use mostly clipart and everyday ephemera and not that many pictures. I do put pictures in my journal, just not that many. And then when I want to make a scrapbook page or use in the photo album, I do, because those are for everyone to enjoy, unlike my journals. My youngest son enjoys looking through my journals, and we laugh together and enjoy them, but really no one else. Enjoy your week, it's Monday morning, time for me to get to work! :-)

I love that, Grace! Not only the father-son-letter-jackets theme of the page, but the mostly white background w/the blue & yellow on the diagonal. I love blue & yellow together, & the diagonal gives the page nice movement. Great job!! 🎉

Great idea to roll paper to look like the pasta. If you want to preserve some of the texture when it goes into page protector, you could add a little foam tape inside the rolled part.

I too cannot scrapbook with premade pages - I nearly always start with my photos then pick paper & sometimes a sketch that work with the photos. Sometimes if I want to use a collection I will look for photos that will work with it. Your layout really turned out great - love the ribbon.

Long-timer here! 🙋🏻‍♀️😆 I remember your making the Perler-bead accents, & when I gave away alllll the Perler-beads stuff we had, I kept a small container of beads to do the same. [True confessions: they’re still in the container. 🥴] How long did the Nuvo “drops”, when spread out like that, take to dry? 🤔

I need to buy some black-&-white patterned papers. I don’t own any, & there have been layouts I’ve seen lately that use either black-&-white or gray-&-white prints & it really gives the eyes a place to rest + keeps the focus on the pictures.
