Realise I'm a bit late to the party but I've trying recording using the squelch function but it always starts to record regardless. Do you need to select the VRX squelch after you've set up the recorder?

probably the WORST aspect of SDRplay is the memory panel, it really sucks, cant even delete an entry, so cumbersome, its a dogs dinner..needs scrapped and rewritten. having to manually go in and open the file in notepad JUST to delete a memory is ridiculous ! and WHY cant we adjust column widths from anywhere ??? why do we have scroll to the top ?

I select the frequency of the entry I want to delete and hit DEL on my keyboard. Save my bank and carry on monitoring. I've never had an issue

I've set SDRUno audio out to my sound card, open and select streaming in the plugin, go to BlackCat SSTV and select streaming, but it does not receive the stream - the spectrum shows no activity. But if I select the mic input that works. Why doesn't the stream input start receiving the stream?! PS - I'm using the trial version 2.5.1 of BlackCat SSTV.

You need to select the BCS SDRuno plugin within the SDRuno plugin panel. A virtual audio cable is not needed.

@@SDRplayHamGuides I've done that, and click 'streaming'. The numbers increase in that little window. But going over to BlackCatSSTV and choose the streaming choice from the pulldown it just sits there, dead.

I'm undecided about going back into SDR - My dongle is long dead. This Video is very helpful!. Everyone tells me SDRplay and UNO is the route to go and I have a mini-whip to go outdoors.

SDRUno is the most insane SDR software app I have used, and I have used 40 of them. It's not the modularity or the flexibility I mind, it's that every UI anti-pattern in the book was lovingly built into this UI. UPDATE: It seems a replacement with a much saner user interface is already in beta.

SDRuno is one of many and not the only application that is compatible with your device on Windows. I recommend installing others (SDRconnect. SDR++,HDSDR, SDR-Console or SDR-Angel) choosing the one that works best for your workflow.

How does the recording function work? Can you independently control and record each VRX to their own file? Also, would I be correct in thinking that you can record two separate bands if you have the Duo, e.g. Primary in on 2M and VRX0 is on 70CM with each using their own receive tuner?

As of preview 3, it is a single recording with the choice of selecting the VRX if multiVRXs are in use. This is for all devices.

Nothing has changed regarding direct frequency entry between P2 and P3. You can try deleting the config.json file created by SDRconnect. AppData\Roaming\SDRplay\SDRconnect

I had my RSPDX-2 working but now I am setting up my radioanalog panadapter to Icom 7300. I think it connects through omnirig? Where is the button for omnirig. I see videos on how to do it with SDRuno but not for this version? Tnx

Sorry for coming in so late! Question: I have Windows 11, so do I still have to enable my laptop microphone, and if I'm using VB cable, will the microphone force me to record background noise? I take part in ARRL FMT (Frequency Measurement Test) events every April & November, and I need to determine the most accurate estimate of received Frequency. Will the recording be a ".WAV" file?

Unable to use direct entry as the display is stuck in band specific and will only allow frequencies within that band. How do you input frequencies outside specific bands ?

Click KeyPad instead of Bands, under the band list. That changes the mode to keypad. This is one of the problems with having different modes in a user interface.

@@LoanwordEggcorn Save problem here. Was on 40M band (7.030). Select Keypad and enter 101500000 (FM radio) and pressing enter jumps back to 7.314986. Enter 3.500 and jumps to bottom end (6.986789). The MHz and KHz buttons just hit the bottom top limits of the band as well. Must be a secret escape. Linux Preview 3 here.

Further testing - Keypad works UNTIL you go to a band then your limited to the band. Close and restart to use keypad again.

@@johnclements3441 It looks like pressing a specific band button limits one to that band. HOWEVER pressing the same band button AGAIN to deselect it seems to remove the band limits.

Sometimes i can tune way down... to 24 khz and sometimes i can not... very strange. SDRUno stops sometimes... like 2000 khz... why is this?

Thank you for the informative video. As of Apr 11, 2024, I just installed SDRconnect and it is operational. I just created a secondary VRX display, but there is no X to close that display. ------ Oh ----- I can just barely see the X, which is EXTREMELY faint!

i would like to use SDR to locate the source of broadband noise in my sw receiver on 3.8 Mhz by cruising the neighborhood with the appropriate antennae. Measuring the amplitude of said noise with regard to FCC limits would be a plus if the noise source is uncooperative for official complaint with measurements stated

I don't know why, I've had no reports of that happening. Right clicking the spectrum in SDRconnect does not lock my VFO

If you right click the frequecy readout, that will place SDR-Connect into direct frequency entry mode. Hit ESC on your keyboard to exit this mode.
