They left out the bombardment with just partial vacuum at high current to drive out contaminants then completing the pump down before introducing the mercury and Argon.

The narration is wrong on several points such as mercury's function is not to brighten the tube. Its the ultraviolet UVC light at 253.7nm from ionized mercury vapour which the fluorescent phosphor coating inside the tube absorbs and re-radiates light in the visible spectrum. The processing, or pumping of the neon narration is incorrect as well. Its a heating process using high voltage to de-gas the glass and phosphors and at the end to heat the electrodes to 900C to convert the chemical emission coating on the inside of the shell which lowers the "resistance" of the final neon lamp. That's just two there's more...

You only need around 12 thousand dollars for the equipment setup to even get started marking your own neon stuff.

I had one of these things that said "KEEP OUT", it was so awesome, until my cat knocked it over and it imploded SO LOUD we thought someone shot up our house or something, my cat shat on the floor from the noise, and several weeks later I sliced my toe on a shard of glass that didn't get picked up and almost got stitches. I'm never getting another one. But they're cool!

this video is very interesting, however ... you guys DO REALIZE that Voltage and Current are not the same thing..... right ?at the end of the video you start by saying"The transformer converts the standard 110 VOLT CURRENT into etc etc"Current is not Voltagemy guess would be that the people that make these signs are aware of thisbut, it's likely that the person who made the video probably hasn't got it straightother than that. good video
