Beautiful video ❤ do your tulips come back every year? Mine never came back when I once planted them in zone 8 :/ me and husband planted so many..may be a 100 and it was a bummer! Also, what’s your planting zone?
@ThymeToGarden1975Күн бұрын
Hi Kiran😍 I treat my tulips as annuals. Once they’ve finished blooming, I discard them and plant my summer annuals. In the past, I tried digging up the bulbs and planting them in large plastic containers while I waited for the foliage to die back, then I’d plant them again in the fall. However, they didn’t perform very well that way-the flowers were smaller and didn’t last as long. It’s a shame to spend the money on tulips for such a short display, but they bring me so much joy after a long, cold winter! ❤ I garden in a zone 6a. Happy gardening🌺

Do you keep your tulip bulbs or treat them as annuals
@ThymeToGarden197513 күн бұрын
I treat them as annuals. Once they’re done blooming, I’m eager to get them out so I can plant my summer annuals. One year, I dug them up, planted them in large totes to let them dry out, and then saved the bulbs. They did bloom the following year, but unfortunately, they weren’t as good as before.

@ thanks for your reply 🙏🏼 actually I wanted to know about dichondra silver falls seeds, so first time you bought it and then you save the seeds?
@ThymeToGarden19759 күн бұрын
@@KiranDawani Yes, I actually bought a no-name brand from Walmart a few years ago and I've been saving the seeds every year since. They're super easy to grow from seed. Just a heads-up-avoid the ones from Proven Winners, since they often produce sterile plants (though I could be mistaken on that). Either way, Walmart is usually cheaper!

About six years ago, we installed an inground irrigation system, and I specifically requested two drip zones. One zone waters my vegetable garden and the concrete pots along the fence, while the other zone is dedicated to watering my patio. I hope that makes sense.

@ThymeToGarden197520 күн бұрын
Thank you! I overwinter my Caladiums bulbs year after year, when I pot them back up in the spring, I plant about 5 small bulbs (same variety) or 1 big bulb with multiple growth points in little 3.5" pots. After hardening off I planted 3 of those pots (different varieties) in each concrete pot. So it could equal 15 small bulbs or 3 big bulbs. Hope that make sense? I've attached the video of when I pot them up in spring, skip to 9:32 for visual, 3 of those pots went into concrete planter with the string of pearls. kzbin.info/www/bejne/f566qp-wg9iirtk

@ThymeToGarden19752 ай бұрын
Hi Lisa.😃What works for me is water sparingly indoors. I wait until pearls look stressed then water thoroughly then allow to dry again. Early spring after frost I place them outside and that’s when they thrive. ❤️🌸
