First of all, there have been non-LDS kids playing for BYU for a long time. They know what they're signing up for when coming to BYU. It also means we miss out on a lot of recruits because of it. Second, it is all about repentance, but that doesn't mean there aren't consequences for our actions. But look at Brandon Davies. He broke the honor code and had to miss games. Clemsons little dynasty was led by two generational QB’s. Their era of dominance is over and FSU is gonna take a step back. What makes Miami unique is that even after 2 decades of irrelevance, It would only takes a double digit win season to start hearing the “U is back”, ratings to shoot up and them to be the most sought after team in the ACC. FSU and Clemson are on the dance floor, But the SEC and Big 10 are staring at Miami over at the bar and waiting for the right moment lol

FSU has evidenced high brand inertia and has a more stable extended fanbase than MIAMI. CLEMSON has yet to prove high brand inertia and would have a smaller natural extended fanbase than FSU. Of those three and ignoring the different perspectives of the SEC and B1G, it's likely FSU, MIAMI and then CLEMSON. UNC and likely UVA are higher than all three from the perspective of both P2s. At the end of the day, this will come down to an agreement between SEC/ESPN and B1G/FOX. Having said that, there is no way all 3 top schools in Florida end up in the same conference. The question is how they split up FSU and Miami. FSU is a better fit in the SEC. SEC wants FSU. ESPN wants FSU. Miami is a better fit in the B1G. B1G wants Miami. FOX REALLY wants Miami. There is a scenario that is a win-win for all parties involved: FSU & Clemson go to SEC Miami goes to B1G... which entices Notre Dame to finally join also. ESPN then offers a new TV contract to the leftover ACC. I know FSU fans hate the SEC.. but $$$ talks. FSU will not turn down an invite from the SEC.

FSU does NOT have to play UF every year by (Florida) law. It ALMOST came to that, but UF finally relented and agreed to play FSU yearly. You'd think the fact that UF chickened out of the 2020 matchup would have easily disproved that, but so many people believe the myth. Moral Gables is nobody's primary rival. FSU and UF are primary rivals. FSU is Moral Gables' primary rival, but not the other way around.

Yes, I stand corrected on that one though my guess is that they would legislated just like apparently North Carolina did today if they hadn’t worked it out

There was never a law saying they have to play, but uf has been ordered to by the state board of control. Otherwise they would not as they are indeed scared and want to schedule cupcakes at home.

@@SurferRC That's not correct. There was pressure in the 1950s, but no orders were given.

No one in the SEC wants Miami. The SEC would rather have FSU than ever consider Miami.

The only scenarios where Miami goes P-2 are 1: FSU goes SEC and the Big 10 takes them to get into Florida. 2: Big 10 wants FSU but NOT Clemson. Then Miami can go as their running mate. If the Big 10 takes Clemson and FSU; Then NO. The SEC does not want The U at all:

That's pretty much how I see the scenarios too. I wouldn't completely rule them out of the SEC, but I also don't see it happening.

One could argue that MIAMI is the (at least a) primary reason why the ACC is in its current situation. Though the ACC didn't have to agree, MIAMI demanded CUSE/BC as a +2, which resulted in also VATECH and PITT due to political interference. None of the former BIGEAST additions (including MIAMI) have met expectations measured from invite to today.
