After receiving numerous comments about the high price of the Microlino, I reached out to the manufacturer with a few questions: What factors influence the current pricing? Who is the target audience? And for what purposes do they expect the vehicle to be mainly used? Here is their answer: The cost of the Microlino is driven by several key factors: Unique Design: Its award-winning retro style sets it apart from other vehicles. Handcrafted Production: Unlike mass-produced cars, the Microlino is mostly built by hand, with only the body assembled using robots. High-Quality Materials: The interior features premium materials, such as vegan leather, emphasizing sustainability and comfort. Innovation: It’s the first vehicle in its category to use a self-supporting steel body, adding to its durability and safety. The Microlino is primarily designed for urban mobility. Its compact size and electric drive make it ideal for short city commutes, quick trips, and as a second car for families. It’s especially suited for environmentally conscious individuals seeking a sustainable alternative to traditional vehicles. The Microlino's ability to park in tight spaces and its efficient energy use are key features for city driving, while its design pays homage to the classic bubble cars of the 1950s. The speedometer is visible. Due to Renault’s design, it’s a bit difficult to see on the camera. If you look closely, you can see that the speed is displayed in the middle of the screen. The numbers have a black background with an orange border.

The era of expensive EVs is coming to an end. Do you think the general public will embrace EVs more quickly because of this?
@marekwitek749416 сағат бұрын
Definetelly, this is really good example of simple and good price/range end spec BEV model that cuold be bestseller in Europe at least in it's class. Those type of BEVs together with Renault 5/ Kia EV3/Skoda Elroq will be huge jump for BEV market in 2025 in Europe. We really needs a lot of cheaper and smaller BEVs that only TMY/TM3 that are very good BEVs but they aren't best type of cars for most of the European needs

Have you testing audio sound music ?
@GDrives_NL2 күн бұрын
I’m not much of an audio expert, so take my opinion with a pinch of salt. I do know Dynaudio since it was in my Tiguan back in the day. It’s standard in the BYD Sealion7, and I thought it sounded really nice and clear. But honestly, I’m not too picky when it comes to audio quality.

@GDrives_NL2 күн бұрын
Have you ever driven the Tesla Model Y? It’s easy to compare the two. The suspension feels just as firm, but I found the seats in this one a lot more comfortable. The Sealion 7, though, has a more fun interior and a slightly softer suspension, which honestly feels just right. Not too stiff, not too soft.

Changing to a softer grade tire could lessen the road noise
@GDrives_NL2 күн бұрын
In my experience, softer grade tires tend to wear out quickly. This version is equipped with Hankook Ventus S1 Evo3 ev tires with a sound absorber, and the external noise level is 71dB. Not a bad set of tires if you ask me.

@StreakyP3 күн бұрын
@@GDrives_NL yes it is.... but then there are no proper service centres within 500m round trip drive. The range when here would be adequate but with the range & lack of fast charging getting it home in the first place would also be a bit of a chore.

could it be that it recognizes who is talking. And so things like the navigation can only be controlled by the driver. I've seen cars that know who is talking, like if you ask to turn on seat heating, it knows whether it was the driver or passenger asking for it. And it could be that this is preventing anyone else to change stuff from the navigation.
@GDrives_NL3 күн бұрын
Regarding the navigation and charging points, it seems the issue is that the car needs to be paired with the app first, according to the guy at the dealership. However, he didn’t seem entirely sure about it. The version I drove hadn’t been paired with the BYD app before.
