I see the cost issue as a Minimalist idea of diminishing cost. I have pre ordered the lp3 I am a current user of the lp2. So Should I manage to keep and maintain the lp3 for say a decade and I paid the 399 during the early purchase offer I will be down to 40 dollars a year as opposed to 1400 or more every 1.5 to 2 yrs. That just seems like A good buy, and common financial sense to me. I am a Minimalist, digital, and practical, as well as an essentialist. The Lp3 will replace no less than 4 devices I have now In one package. I do not see the problem. Cheers. I love the philosophy, the integrity, and the vison. Bang on chaps!

I wish someone asked about the music player. I mostly use my phone for audiobooks, and I’m not sure how will the Kompakt will handle multiple chapters, or saving spot last listened. Bookmarking would be useful.

I'd like to have a better camera and the ability to remove those apps. I also want to have Whatsapp/Signal/Telegram because these are essentials. Google maps would be good too! Great review Jose.

I pre-order already the LP3 but this one makes me think about it… one question for Jose: do you think that mudita is going to support with software updates, spare part, battery for example.? Comparing it with light phone do you think that this two are similar in terms of life time of the device?

After using the plum phone I prefer ThreadX over KaiOS.

So cloud apps are like browser shortcuts, but they have their own designated 'browser'?

in regards of 2FA: this is IMHO mandatory. Without it I have to take two phones with me... which makes no sense.

I have an Apple Watch 7 I believe… and it has cellular. Verizon offers a stand-alone cell plan for watches for 20/month (paired price is 10/month with paired phone plan) and I want to know if messaging will work with non-Apple customers if I’m on cellular? I would think that it would?

For anyone curious, here are the frequency bands it supports (as sold in Vietnam, at least). Keep in mind, VoLTE isn't guaranteed, even if it supports the bands for your carrier. 4G (LTE) bands: 1, 3, 7, 8, 20, 28, 40 3G (UMTS A.K.A. WCDMA) bands: 1 (2100 mhz) & 8 (900 mhz) 2G (GSM) bands: 3 (1800 mhz) & 8 (900 mhz)

This is very cheap here in our country, I hope they add more messaging and banking apps, not more social media apps. Also, the wi-fi and hotspot capabilities are welcome additions to ThreadX. Nice video, Jose!

Jose, does this get data and/or VoLTE with an AT&T MVNO in your area? From what I've found it may support LTE band 5 on some versions.

I just cancelled my light phone 3 pre-order. Ultimately its just too much money for me. $600 canadian plus another $100 in duties I will have to pay not to mention the cost of the cast and screen protector all in that would cost me like $750 Canadian its just too much. Plus when I think about giving up my e-ink screen I just can't do it. Glad I cancelled it because now the decision is made and I lost my place in line (ordered day 1) so I will not be tempted to go back and order it plus now I will pay the increased price. All in all I am happy with my decision. The kompakt will have the weather app I really want. Yes it will not have a podcast took like the Light phone 3 but that is not a deal breaker for me. Excited for the Kompakt live stream tomorrow and finally happy I made the best decision for my needs!

Also are you going to do another live stream closer to launch with the Light phone team?

Also after a lot of thought I don't think you can call the Kompakt a smartphone in this video. The iphone is a smartphone , can't put them both in the same category, the iphone is a slot machine in your pocket stealing and selling your data, the Kompakt does none of that, Because it is not a smartphone, the user has the choice to make it a smartphone, the fact that it does not have a google playstore is the main reason I would not classify it as a smartphone. If the light phone 3 for example gets lyft on it, that is an app, does that now mean the LP3 is a smartphone?

Can you block unlimited unwanted callers?
