When they ask if the robots male or female has nothing to do with binary non-binary or or anything it was just asking if it was a male robot or female robot in programming don’t read too much into this question and apply your woke ideologies to it. They were still under the common sense principles of male and female only.

It looks to me like some sort of walking stick type bug. Those kinds of bugs are typically nocturnal, which might explain why this one is moving so slowly. Camouflage is the primary defense strategy of these insects. They also tend to eat plants. The fat abdomen at this time of year suggests a female preparing to lay her eggs. We have preying mantis here in central California, but not as many as we used to when I was a kid decades ago. Now I feel lucky when I see one. They resemble that bug in some ways, except they're bright green. A picture of the insect that aligned with its symmetry would have helped to identify it. On my cell phone camera there is a feature that lets me query pictures to identify plants and insects. Look for the same feature on yours for future encounters.

The first time I aaw this was when I was @ 6yrs old in 1959. Have loved it ever since. One thing that many newbies don't know is_ that the story was based on Shakespeare's THE TEMPEST. As for the exterior planet matte art was, as I recall, done by the premier space artist Chesley Bonestell,.. for us growing up back then, most of hiw we visualized alien landscapes or views of say Saturn and it's rings from one of it's moons or ships landing on Mars...etc. All those wonderous exotic sights in our minds came from the works of Bonestell. What a master artist. I was in an astronomy club in Jr High and we held our meetings in the conference room of the adult club at the local science museum. .. surrounding the table on the walls were at least a dozen large framed Chesley Bonestell original paintings. Whenever we had a meeting I was always having to be dragged away from the pictures to settle down and take part in the meeting I was just absolutely enthralled with him I couldn't get enough... every moment I stood in front of them I felt like I was somewhere not on this Earth.

The reason John Wayne hated the Indians so much is because his wife and one of his kids was killed by the Comanche. The two graves behind the house, that was their graves, Deborah was the other, only she never knew it. Aaron was his brother, Martha, was his wife's sister.

I may be wrong, but in the world of TOS, earthmen and Klingons were evenly matched re brains and strength. They are also the physically weakest 2 humanoids we encounter. Vulcans, Romulans, the Gorn, Charlie X, and Trelane are all more powerful. Which makes Khan's boast that he is 5 times as strong and intelligent than Kirk a hollow boast. Because being 5 times as strong as an average earth man means that he can handle a Vulcan pre-schooler but that's about it. He is a sligntly faster turtle. The world's tallest midget. Assignment Earth, though, features Gary Seven, the real deal.

My second favorite Twilight Zone episode. I enjoy how "Nick of Time" explores many psychological areas, the most obvious being the nature of superstition itself and a lesser one involving thought inducement from suggestive persuasion. Shatner does a great job as the young and confident married man who seems to have all the answers until he meets his match with the devil's own device. Patricia Breslin provides fine support as his loving but increasingly desperate wife who tries her best to tear him away from the diner before he loses his soul. "Nick of Time" is truly an original premise that has plenty to say about man's fears, superstitions and psychological problems. It's one of the more interesting episodes in the Twilight Zone series and has a real "hidden" message for viewers.

"Pennsylvania 6-5000"! That telephone numbering format was common in the US from the 1930s to the 1960s. Patricia Breslin, the actress who played the wife, acted mostly in television in the sixties. She married the owner of the Cleveland Browns after she left show business.

Happy to see you again, it's been a while. This is great story about superstition and magical thinking. If I do this "thing" a completely unconnected other "thing" will happen. We all do it in small ways. If, at the last few seconds, I cross my fingers my team will win. This episode shows at the end, the one couple trapped by their ow fears, waiting for a favorable "sign" so as to get on with their lives. You can extrapolate this theme as far as you like. A thought provoking episode. Food names are very inconsistent. The name "chicken fried steak" is like the name "flame broiled hamburger", If you order this, you're not going to get a plate of flames, you get hamburger cooked in a specific manner. Likewise with chicken fried steak, You're getting steak. This misunderstanding is extremely common. On the other hand, "chicken fried rice" is rice with chicken, and not batter coated clumps of rice which have been fried. Inconsistent names. :) Thank you for the great reaction. I look forward to your next one.
