I've been looking lately. On their websites many show a bottom line w/ delivery price that is before taxes, title, and BS doc fee. That price is the "come-on" and is purposely lower than about 98% of buyers will be able to get. In other words it is a "fake" price for almost all buyers. Plus dealers are charging up to a grand for the BS DOC fee and they'll hem and haw when you say it's a bogus added charge trying to convince you it is something like a mandated charge (the only thing mandated is the fact if they remove it for one buyer they can be sued for not offering the same removal for all buyers...but it's hard to prove since you usually don't know any other buyers)...BASICALLY DOC FEES ARE ADD-ON BS FEES. So a truck they bottom on their website is nothing more than a lie price wise. What an industry. You can't trust 'em as far as you can throw 'em.

@RonKnowsStuff18 күн бұрын
You don’t know if you don’t ask. Maybe they have a loaner available. It is a beautiful SUV. I prefer the looks of it over the CX-5 but, you gotta buy what you can afford and the CX-5 made sense for us.
@theorangeguyna676219 күн бұрын
Congrats. Its a pretty sweet buy, just by casually searching. The same can be said for other makes/models that currently have 2024 and 2025 models on the lot for sale. To me, any car more than 30 miles on odometer is used. I tried to buy a loaner once and dealer wouldn't sell it to me. If i may offer some advice, since it is used car, do some maintenance on it - I would definitely change the oil/filter now - regardless of what the maintenance book says, and then whatever the book interval is, half that interval if you want to keep the car 100K+ miles. Hope you and family enjoy the ride.
@RonKnowsStuff18 күн бұрын
Makes sense to me. They did just change the oil and filter but I already ordered OEM filters and will change it after 3,000 with full synthetic. Thanks for the tip!
@Wabsirba19 күн бұрын
So... you didn't buy a new car.... What if you ran the numbers with the Mazda subvented rates Mazda has been offering for months? Did you not qualify?
@RonKnowsStuff19 күн бұрын
It was a dealer owned vehicle and in the eyes of banks, it is new. Since it is current the model year. We are cash buyers. Saving $1000 to get 0% didn’t make sense. When you factor in the additional warranty buying a CPO gets, the numbers made sense to us. I hope that answers your question. If not, let me know and I’ll dig deeper
@Wabsirba19 күн бұрын
@RonKnowsStuff The idea that a vehicle that was used as a loaner is new varies from state to state. Pennsylvania, for instance, or must be sold as used. And if you were cash buyers, then why all the talk about interest rates?
@RonKnowsStuff19 күн бұрын
@ I wanted to provide the loan information as not everyone is going to pay cash. Financing is a huge factor to consider when buying. Right now Jeep is offering great deals to move tin. Mazda isn’t on the CX-5 and Toyota isn’t on the RAV4.
@Wabsirba19 күн бұрын
@@RonKnowsStuff Which then i go back to my point as to why not use the subvented rates Mazda is offering on the CX-5? I know they are offering 3.9% for 60 months right now because I just bought one less than a week ago.
@RonKnowsStuff16 күн бұрын
@ congrats on your purchase!! I should have done a comparison on the 60month rate on the new versus the loaner/CPO. I’ll do that and add it to the description. Thanks!
@dominicd269420 күн бұрын
I can tell you as an ex car jockey many many years ago during my college days, loaners are the worst cars to buy as they can be driven hard, same as rental cars. Also, the deal you got for a used car isn't that great.
@RonKnowsStuff20 күн бұрын
Loaners tend to have lower miles on them than rentals and are managed by the OEM service department. I checked and so no issues with the one we bought but, you are right. You have to be very careful when buying anything with miles on it. Thanks for watching!
@dailygrinders8920 күн бұрын
They are driven harder but still a smoken deal tho! I’d buy it at least it’s better than a rental used car.
@RonKnowsStuff20 күн бұрын
@ yeah. I was able to look at the history of it and it didn’t seem bad but, you never know. Usually Mazda owners are more careful and it was only loaned to them when theirs was in service.
@waynek80519 күн бұрын
What about a demo (car driven by dealer or company employee)? How it was treated would depend on who the person was driving it I guess. Way back in the '70s, my parents bought a Mercury that had been driven for about 6 months by an employee at the district Ford office.
@RonKnowsStuff19 күн бұрын
@@waynek805 considering a demonstrator is a good financial decision so long as you inspect the vehicle carefully. Heck, you should do that with one with no miles!

@RonKnowsStuff Ah yes, I hear you. I used to be a Toyota guy, but discounts are minimal with them, so my last 3 new vehicles have all been Jeep/Dodge/Chrysler products.
